I was just going to post this. Great news that Mike is doing well and sharing all that he has to teach. I'm betting he's great at it. One of my all-time favorites. Best wishes to him and his family.

A great young man. Hopefully this is the start of a long and satisfying coaching career.

I am glad he got help with his depression it is so hard to deal with without medication.i have depression and on medication for it and it’s still a hard time sometimes getting through the rough times.i understand completely what it’s like I have been on medication for mine for 25 years and still am it’s a lifetime battle and the minute you think you don’t need medication and get tired of medication for it,and try to stop taking it and deal with it without your medication it will knock you to your knees, suicidal thoughts feelings of worthless and helpless it is awful sometimes.i am happy for Michael sweetney to do good in his life.i have a battle with this everyday with medication and support from my wife I fight on. Go Hoyas.

Go Hoyas. You are not alone in battling your depression. We all have to deal with it, whether medication is prescribed or alternatively we seek regular therapeutic help. Keep fighting the good fight. We are with you, just as we are with Mike Sweetney in spirit.

This made me tear up. I'm so happy to see how well Mike is doing. The fact that he's still alive and he's passing along all that he's learned and experienced with others is a beautiful thing. Continued good health and success to him.

Great to see! One of my all-time favorite Hoyas. I swear he was fouled every time he touched the ball but refs rarely called it.

Maybe Big Mike can get a side gig coaching Zion on staying in playing shape balldurham.com/2021/11/06/duke-basketball-famers-mock-zion/Please don't take this as a dig at Mike. I know his struggles and respect his situation. Maybe not so much Zion, but Mike worked his way through his issues and found the light.

Big Mike may well be saving lives here. What a remarkable human...I hope he gets to deliver a commencement address on Healy Lawn someday.

One of great rants of all time — which used to be a “bumper” on sportstalk radio locally way back when — was Esh after one game holding forth that ”It is CRAP! It is UNFAIR!” how Sweetney got hammered every time he got the ball in the paint and the refs just swallowed their whistles…

100% accurate complaint by Craig, albeit perhaps not expressed in the most persuasive way. If Big Mike had played in the era of a few years ago when fouls were called on every play, he would shoot twenty free throws a game.
