Anybody else tired of seeing Jack being driven around in the remote controlled car? C'mon, Jack is all grown up now so let's have him start ripping apart boxes with our opponents name on it. He's a Bulldog! Let him loose!

i think it's a matter of what activities the current 'jack' likes to do ... the box ripping Jack was a decade ago

Anybody else tired of seeing Jack being driven around in the remote controlled car? C'mon, Jack is all grown up now so let's have him start ripping apart boxes with our opponents name on it. He's a Bulldog! Let him loose! To set the background, here is Georgetown’s recent Jack the Bulldog history. John P. Carroll (mascot from 1999-2003) was the first of the recent line of Jack the Bulldog’s after a long hiatus. He attended games but did not have a signature move. John S. Carroll (mascot from 2003-2013) was best known for his signature move of attacking decorated empty boxes at the Georgetown games. This trick was developed after Father Steck noticed Jack’s fondness for attacking boxes in the kitchen. Jack Junior (mascot from 2012-2013) had a short time as the mascot because the "exciting and hectic" life of a mascot wasn’t right for him. His signature move was popping balloons, which was discovered at homecoming. The balloon popping was stopped after a few games because people were worried that pieces of popped balloons would be a choking hazard for JJ. John B. Carroll (mascot from 2013-2020) is best known for his initial signature move of skateboarding across the court. As he has gotten older, he has switched to riding his (sponsored) remote controlled jeep for his signature move. John F. Carroll (mascot in training) is still in the process of adjusting to campus life, so we’ll see what his signature move will be, though his handlers have said they plan on teaching him how to skateboard.

Back in the 60's Jack was kept in a fenced in compound near what is now the library. Rumor has it that Jack was moved out of the compound when it was found that students were providing Jack with LSD laced hamburgers.

Off with their heads, even if it is 50+ years later.

Free Jack AND always honor Sgt. Stubby -- the first Georgetown dog mascot, who really WAS decorated (as a hero of WWI). Many don't know the glory and heroism of Sgt. Stubby, which is set out below from the football site. His story was a major animated movie last Spring, and an off-Broadway show before that. His "trick" was to save lives by warning of mustard gas attacks and capturing Germans. With all due respect to our Jacks (including the human ones), Stubby is the GOAT -- and it's not close... www.hoyafootball.com/history/stubby.htm

And while we're at it - let's put Jack back living in the dorms among the students where he belongs.

Wasn't "he" a "she" that was originally Daisy? Or was that a bulldog that predated this one?

Wasn't sure where to put this - it's about Big Jack, our student mascot. He's disappeared lately, not appearing at the recent games, including yesterday. Anyone know the story?
Also, and I've mentioned this before, but it bugs me that our cheerleaders aren't leading cheers during the action. We had a great crowd yesterday, but the only verbal cheers (e.g., "De-fense!" "Let's go, Hoyas!" etc.) I heard seemed to be spontaneous.

Jack came out on the court yesterday. He hopped out of his little car almost immediately, and then they quickly led him off the floor.

He meant the human mascot, not the actual dog.

Regarding Jack the dog, it was pretty obvious that Jack was not happy about being in the car yesterday and he bolted as soon as he could. I sense a little Prima Donna in Jack. Does he have an agent?
