Love it! Let’s rock and roll, who says this team can’t be better now? There is no reason why this squad can’t still make the tourney.

"The school is so small that the Huskers have only seven players. At the first practice, Dale quickly dismisses Buddy Walker for rudeness, and Whit Butcher also walks out but later returns. Dale begins drilling the remaining five players (Rade Butcher, Merle Webb, Everett Flatch, Strap Purl, and manager Ollie McLellan) with fundamentals and conditioning but no scrimmages or shooting, much to the players' dismay."

None of the clips here show the coach only yelling “rebound” in the huddle

I'm more excited to see extended minutes for Blair with the added pressure being an upperclassmen more than anything else. He should see this as breathing new life in his career and if he steps up in the scoring column, we have a chance to be middle of the road Big East this season. If he doesn't, I don't see how we aren't at the bottom. I think expecting the departures to have a significant positive impact on the play of anyone else is probably wishful thinking. We have not been a very good team with Akinjo and Leblanc in the lineup but we have been horrendous without them in the lineup so suggesting Akinjo was holding the team back and not passing the ball when he was still by far the leader of the starting five in assists per 40 and also had the lowest turnover rate per 40 is some serious revisionist history. Look, he's gone and it sounds like it was his choice so good riddance and good luck to him at the same time. The winning formula is for Allen to get back to playing how he did for UCF last year, Yurt to stay on the damn floor and Blair to step up as an upperclassman. I want Mac and Pickett to play with controlled aggression because neither is good enough to be a positive factor when they overdo it. If we don't play through Yurt to get open shots and drives for our guards/wings, then we will be a very tough watch. I believe we have pieces that can do it but that also doesn't include if we are without Garnder/Alexander as I don't for a second believe we have enough talent/depth to compete with other Big East teams without them on the roster. I will reserve judgement on whether that should be the case until the facts of who did what are clearly laid out. Oh and it will be an interesting dilemma of whether you burn a redshirt on one of our two bigs if they truly aren't ready to play.

I think the most likely starting lineup will be Allen, Mac, Mosely, Pickett, and Omer, with Q-Dub, Blair, Galen, and Myron coming off the bench, assuming the last 2 are suited up. Without Galen and Myron, we are pretty darn thin and will probably run with a 7 man lineup. If so, we won't be able to press anymore.
A real curve ball starting line up would be Mac, Mosely, Myron/Galen, Pickett, and Omer, only because we are all expecting the team to limit the 2 named students' playing time.
I suppose there is the possibility that both players will remain on the team and actually see their playing time increase. This would be supported by the notion that Ewing and the University have been on top of the situation from day 1, completed exhaustive internal research, followed all University policies/procedures, and deemed the players fit/qualified to play and will not bend to uneducated outside pressures.

Our guys can play without the pressure of expectations. They still have to play structured and fundamental basketball, but they will not be looking over their shoulders to see if someone is at the scorer's table to replace them. Play to their strengths, limit mistakes.
You got this Hoyas!

We ride at midnight, Manhattan in the distance I cannot be everywhere at once, people I’m in dire need of assistance…
Well—
