Jamari has a foot injury. That's why he hasn't played If that’s true, why wouldn’t Ewing just say that?

Jamari has a foot injury. That's why he hasn't played If that's the case, why not just say so? It would squash all speculation that often results from an apparent "DNP coach's decision."

I have to believe that is BS. Yes, if he was hurt, why wouldn't the coach say so rather than unhealthy speculation. Duh!

Jamari has a foot injury. That's why he hasn't played I don't think anyone believes that correlation. He may have a foot injury. Patrick Ewing was asked directly why he was not playing. Foot injury was not the answer.

Foot injury was not the answer. We are talking about Georgetown here so it is possible that they would have communicated this in the most illogical and counterproductive way possible.

We are talking about Georgetown here so it is possible that they would have communicated this in the most illogical and counterproductive way possible. The follow up question on this was whether he had to develop the mental side of the game, or if there was a physical skill lacking, and Ewing's answer was "that's something that's between him and me." How someone here tries to backtrack that to "he's got a hurt foot" is ridiculous. Here's the video again. Watch it and then try to swallow "he's not playing because he has a foot injury".

While I've been in the camp that thought Sibley might actually just be behind Clark and Holloway on the depth chart, Daytona is a pro and wouldn't throw that out there unless it was sourced. Given the way things work at this school we may never know the full truth, but at a minimum somebody trustworthy is giving him the foot injury explanation. And yes I'm aware that it does not align to what Coach told Hoyas247. By the way daytonahoya31, have enjoyed your recent hits on Chad Ford's podcast.

Jamari has a foot injury. That's why he hasn't played If this was true when Ewing commented the other day, then it takes Georgetown's communications incompetence to an entirely new level of horrible. Also, in his comment, Ewing said Jamari had to keep doing what he did "this past week." That doesn't sound like recovery from hurting your foot. And, before we hear the refrain of "privacy," etc., this is 2020, and if a basketball player is hurt, I think it is fair to reveal that fact. We do not necessarily have a right to every piece of medical information, or even a diagnosis, but I think "injured" or "not injured" is a fair expectation. Communications missteps have been frequent, and while not surprising, they do not help. Last year, Ewing's comments about Yurtseven and McClung's injuries were not helpful, nor were Ewing's comments about McClung (which sounded like an honest mistake, but still, it's important in this day and age to be careful). I think sometimes Georgetown creates problems through their erratic and secretive approach. I truly think part of what caused fans to turn against JT3 when the team began doing badly was that he was also really bad in this respect. Except, JT3 basically just didn't comment, and thus, did not build a connection with fans, and could come across as aloof. When Ewing first started, I truly liked much of what he was doing media-wise, but it seemed like after the initial introduction in 2017, things reverted back to the Georgetown classic approach. That is one aspect of the JT Jr. legacy that is simply outdated for 2020.

I was under the impression that Bile had the foot injury and Sibley was a coach’s decision.

I have no idea, and I was firmly in the camp that Sibley might just not be a better player than Clark or Holloway as of now. But would you really be that shocked if for some reason the program was not transparent about a players status based on some perceived strategic advantage? The same program that won't even let us see lay up lines or warm-ups in an open practice because it might give our opponents too much insight into our team? That has for decades tried to avoid being transparent if at all possible? I would have thought that you of all people, with your constant cynicism, could appreciate that obfuscation might be a possibility. Daytona isn't some random fly-by poster, he's a national basketball reporter with a respected outlet, so he's not pulling the injury story out of his ass. Is it possible that he has Sibley and Bile confused, or that his source had the two players' situations mixed up? Sure. But he's not making it up.

No. Is his source above error? No. What benefit would there be under any circumstance for Ewing to say Sibley was a coach’s ‘ decision DNP vs. injured? ...especially when saying DNP will lead to all sorts of internet conjecture about his highest ranked recruit? It’s all downside with no upside. I think someone mixed things up somewhere.

One question: was Sibley wearing an orthopedic boot vs UMBC / Navy? Reports from the UMBC game had him dressed to play.

And what's the % when there's a situation where there's a major scandal that involves 4 players, with three being in a legal quagmire from the same incident? That is fair. Ultimately, I think what it comes down to, is whether we can keep a solid, consistent roster going forward. Transfers will happen no matter who is the coach (and if players don't have to sit out, it'll really get wild), but unless it's a small number, and not our top talent, it'll be hard for us to get out of the basement of the Big East. All that said, to bring it back to Sibley, let's hope we see him soon! Does Patrick have the full support of the AD and president?
How many years does Patrick have on his contract?
Did he want to keep LeBlanc or the other two?
Why did Mac transfer?
