I expect a big PSU alumni presence at the game. As bowl organizers know PSU travels well.

Are we assuming PSU will be favored?

More on Watkins vs. Omer.... Watkins was Penn State’s best defender statistically last year with a a rating of 93.1 per sports-reference significantly below the team average. This year he is off to an even stronger start with a 59.8 against the weaker early season competition. Watkins should be an interesting test for Omer. We should have a much better understanding of Omer after this game. Omer had 16 and 9 with 3 blocks against Duke not sure why we already don't have an understanding of his game.

He could have forgotten how to play?

Big Test...cant start slow..i think we'll rise to the moment and pull out a close one. The team has grit yet the outcome is gonna be based on how many stops we can get.

Hoyas' defense has not arrived yet, but I am more focused on Penn St. defense in this one. They play a number of defenses, from pressure to zone. Doubt they will extend their half court defense until Hoyas prove that they can consistently hit the outside shot. They will not make it easy to get the ball in to Yurtseven. Have to believe that McClung and Blair are better than their starting percentages from deep (25%, 14%) but it may be tough to break out in a game against a strong defense. This game could turn on the production of Pickett, Mosley, LeBlanc and Alexander.

Going a bit deeper....
Both teams have shot a comparable 3FG%, but Penn State to date has emphasized the 3 point shot with 49.6% of field goals vs. 34% for the Hoyas. Hopefully, we won’t be trading 2s with 3s.

Just out of curiousity, I'm interested in seeing if LeBlanc starts this game. And if so, who comes in off the bench between Pickett and Mosely

And if so, who comes in off the bench between Pickett and Mosely I think you would want to go 3 bigs instead of undersizing yourself with 3 sub 6-2 guards. Especially since Mac and Akinjo are so ball dominant that it doesn't really help to have another guard out there.

My guess is that Josh is inserted back in as a starter v. Penn State.

My guess is that Josh is inserted back in as a starter v. Penn State. Agree as Penn St. is inside oriented.

My guess is that Josh is inserted back in as a starter v. Penn State. He should start, but even if he doesn't and he gets 30 minutes it'll be okay. We need a much shorter rotation for this one.
