They were without Baldwin though. Also, I think it proves more how good Creighton has been this month AND at home. This Creighton team is killer. They look incredible.

I don't think we will beat Creighton but we matchup a lot better with them than X or Provy...we can deal with very skilled teams but very physical teams are a different story....

Providence is playing as good as anyone in the conference right now, that is ed Cooley his teams play tough, that is a quality in his teams tough.thats what Hoyas lack is be more physical and tougher, the defence for Hoyas is terrible they can’t guard teams kill them from three and on the inside to.thats what I don’t get a ewing coached team with bad defense, and pretty good offense.you would think the defense would be a lot better.

Player development, player development & player development...
It's the best recruiting tool a program can have imo...

It's the best recruiting tool a program can have imo... 3 of those guys were 5 stars, the rest were 4-star, top 100 (or very close), and Paschall had already shown he was very under-recruited at Fordham. Wright's been the best coach in the league over the last 10 years and one of the best in the country, but he's not exactly turning straw into gold there. His ability to keep them is very impressive.

Villanova closes the door on St. John's.
In the post-game interview Jay Wright invited Bill Raftery to an after-game dinner with Kyle Lowry, having been honored by Villanova during the game.
"I have a curfew," Raftery deadpanned.

Hart was # 94 on the RSCI list, Bridges was #96, Neither Paschall or DiVincenzo made it for their respective years... Even if kids are regarded they still need to be developed properly in my view Take a look at this Gtown roster of recent memory, it had 7 RSCI top 100 players(6 were sophs or freshman) on it, lack of player development killed those teams... www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/georgetown/2016.html

We had an all-conference SG playing the point, a SF posing as our only other guard, and 5 college PFs vying for time. You're right, there was plenty of talent. But nobody's winning with that ridiculous lineup and absence of guards. As for Nova... Donte was #109 on 24/7, hence the parenthetical - but he was still a 4-star kid. Paschall wasn't Jay's kid. By the time he played a game at Nova, he was 20 years old and practically a grown man. I'm far more impressed with Wright's ability to keep his talented guys for extra years (Brunson, Hart, Paschall) or redshirt years. A constant rotation of 4-star kids who stay for 3 or 4 years is a tremendous recipe for success. That's why our defections hurt so much this year. Sure, we'll miss the talent. But we could've had 3 starters going forward who started and played together for 3 or 4 years. That could've been something to build on. Weave in young guys or even grad xfers when needed, but there needs to be a core. Nova has more Top 100 kids this year than they did 2 or 4 years ago, but their starters and entire rotation just aren't as polished. Next year? If he can convince everybody to stay and add Dixon (redshirt) and Daniels (transfer)... they're going to be monsters again.

Creighton
Hardcore college basketball junkies know all about the Jays’ perimeter. They know about the long-term potential of Marcus Zegarowski, the two-way ability of Ty-Shon Alexander, and the cerebral play of Mitch Ballock.
But as the calendar flips from February to March, more names associated with non blue blood programs are primed to come to the forefront.
This includes Creighton’s starting perimeter of Zegarowski, Alexander, and Ballock, who are currently averaging a combined 45 points, 14 rebounds, and 10.4 assists.
“These three guys rank right up there with the best perimeters we’ve had since I’ve been at Creighton,” Creighton head coach Greg McDermott said last week. “You win in the college game with guards and we’ve got three really good ones.”
Villanova
Villanova lost a combined 35.1 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.9 assists when Phil Booth and Eric Paschall graduated after last season, but the Wildcats will have a significantly better seed in the NCAA Tournament in 2020 than they had in 2019. How? The best culture in the sport. Villanova was a six seed last season and should be either a three or potentially a two seed on Selection Sunday. The Wildcats are 22-6 overall entering Saturday’s game against Providence in Philadelphia.

Our apprentice head coach has had three seasons to figure out the modern college game. Some here are saying that, to judge his coaching ability fairly, Pat needs to have a full roster. The question is why, after three seasons, does he keep missing having that full roster?

The question is why, after three seasons, does he keep missing having that full roster? the programs you are jealous of the coaches have been there for a while. None of them were apprentice head coaches. We’re stuck with Pat learning on the job and wishing that he’s a quick, not stubborn learner.
