Happy for the young man, this was the proper decision from the start...

Running PnR with Bigs?
I like the concept a lot, let's see how well it holds up against more legit competition tonight...
Big-Big Pick and Rolls The transition from “Guard U” to “Wing U” is here, and it is long, fast, and difficult to defend. In their season opener, Villanova was exclusively playing lineups in which their smallest player was either Collin Gillespie (6-3) or Justin Moore (6-4). Of the remaining six Wildcats in the rotation who played more than 15 minutes, no player stood shorter than 6-7. Even more exciting, outside of Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, Villanova’s wing rotation featured five players who could all handle the ball and shoot from the outside.

Is Taurean Thompson injured? If not, they got in a lot of trouble for a player they barely played last year and aren't even playing this year...

Retaining tourney eligibility = getting off light If they had lost tourney eligibility after Powell returned, it would have been catastrophic.

Since the game conflicted with the Hoyas (i.e. same night), I hadn't followed the Seton Hall/MSU game closely at all. I had no idea that he played.....and scored 37. LOL

I did have the impression that Williard was probably too specific on the prognosis immediately after the injury happened. It is not like he snapped his leg in half.

I thought it was the type of wise spin that coaches put out in the weeks before big matchup games. Of course it always seems like a player expected to miss 2 months for our Big East opponents is usually ready to score on our defense a week or two later when they play us. The bigger issue is that the Big East under performed in the Gavitt games again this year. Unless we and the rest of the BE do much better in our Big 12 matchups, seems we will be relegated to 4th or 5th best basketball conference again this year.

Retaining tourney eligibility = getting off light On the other hand, NJIT and Monmouth will be ineligible for the NCAAs for the next two seasons because of what Seton Hall did.

St. John's is on the verge of losing to Vermont right now... Nice comeback by the Johnnies, they made up 9 pts in a few minutes to tie the game up with 10 seconds left...

I do think the Depaul win validated the BE as the toughest from top to bottom in the country.

Not really. Vermont wins 20+ games every season, and has been in the NCAAs two of the last three years. That's better than, oh, Georgetown has done.
