Butler dominated PC tonight, got up 9-0 and never looked back... They move to 3-0 in the league...

DePaul goes to 0-3 in league play with the loss to St. John’s today, so much for the nice pic they had...

I admit I have not watched either team previously this season, but I’m watching Creighton-Xavier right now because we got them coming up. And it looks like neither team has ever played offense before. I just saw a wide open 3 air balled. I think even I could hit the side of the board.
If this is at all how they actually play, I feel good about our chances against both teams.

I'm actually feeling better after today's game. Face it Nova, Seton Hall, Butler are the class of the league but everyone else is beatable. We looked pretty good for a good part of today's game and made me think that if Mac is okay and Wahab can continue to impress we might be able to hold our own against everyone else and still might finish 9-9.

If Marquette loses to Seton Hall, 4 teams will be 1-3 and 1 will be 0-3. That is half of the conference.

High praise for Butler...
BUTLER: LaVall Jordan has certainly proved himself worthy of the Butler job. This is probably the best Bulldog team that we have ever seen, and that includes the teams that reached the national title game. Kamar Baldwin can take over games when they need to be taken over, there is size an versatility up front, they have shot-makers on the wings and Jordan has proven himself to be an elite game-planner that blows up whatever a team tries to run against him. The best team in the Big East.
SETON HALL: Myles Powell’s absence allowed Seton Hall’s supporting cast to gain the confidence they need to make the Pirates a very dangerous team moving forward. They are a top ten defense in America, they have two literal Monstars roaming the paint and there are myriad athletic perimeter players that get out and pressure defensively. They are not fun to play against, and that’s before you factor in that Powell can win a game all by himself.
VILLANOVA IS NO LONGER THE CLASS OF THE BIG EAST
Villanova has absolutely dominated the conference over the course of the last six seasons, but they are no longer the best team in the league. That title goes to Butler as of today, and there’s an argument to be made that Seton Hall is better than the Wildcats as well.
And that’s not a shot at Villanova. Jay Wright’s club is still young and still working through a regeneration after losing a couple of guys to the NBA earlier than expected. Collin Gillespie has low-key developed into one of the best point guards in the country, and Saddiq Bey has turned himself into a guy that is going to get plenty of NBA attention. On the nights their threes are falling, Villanova can hang with anyone.
But they are not the best team in their league.

I think that's a little extreme... And I'm not taking anything away from this Butler team, but that Gordon Hayward led team was pretty amazing

Not a Butler historian by any stretch, but I think they were a 5 seed and a 8 seed during their 2 NCAA runs (they were a 4 one other time). They're in legit discussion for #1 seed at the moment, so I think that's probably where they're coming from.
I have to see their defense in person because it statistically is almost too good to be true. But if they finish the season and get 1 seed in tourney tough to argue this isn't their best team.

Not the deepest team, but when you look at who they beat come tournament time it was rather impressive. I guess it's just too early to make that comparison. Maybe when March/April rolls around, considering so far their best win is home vs Creighton But yeah, agree with you on that 2010 Georgetown team lol. I miss those guys

Yeah, agree that they *could get there. I just think it's too early to make that call. Two weeks ago, Ohio State was #2 in america and now they've lost three in a row and are in the 20s. Not saying that same thing will happen to butler, but just shows how quickly things can change this time of year

This could be a really big week for our boys.....GTown has Creighton and Marquette. If we can play to our potential and win these games we will be in decent position to make a run towards the upper levels in the BE...man I hope Mac is healthy...

Crazy comeback to force OT by DePaul @ Nova, down 11 with 2 minute left... Refs doing their best to keep Nova alive. That was a horrendous offensive foul on Depaul down the stretch in regulation. The only possession in their last 8 that they didn't score.

DePaul just got screwed by the refs again in my opinion. Down 3 with 6 seconds left and it surely looked like he was in a shooting motion from 3 when the refs called the foul on Nova, but he only got to shoot 2 with a second left.

Is Nova now the Duke of the Big East?

Wasn't really shooting, just belatedly tried to look like it after the defender reached in and fouled him at midcourt.

Nah, clearly faked the shooting motion after he was hit crossing mid court. But agree that other calls really favored Nova. But hey, that's what an on campus gym can do for you.
