Another terrible start to a PC game, they're down 9 at the half to URI... 38-29 I'm not gonna go full hoyaboya on Cooley but he's done a bad job with the team this season...

URI looked pretty good. Cox has a great guard in Russell. Walker was on the bench waiting to get eligible. They had 8,000+ fans in a sell out. Kids camped out overnight for tickets.

St Johns and Butler both on their way to impressive wins. The bottom of this conference is stronger than anyone thought. I really don’t know how we can do better than the 9 wins we had last year.

Win or lose this was an impressive performance by St. John's given that they played a lot of the 2nd half without LJ & Heron...

Iffy foul call but that's home court advantage, I guess.

Assuming we still have a team to field, I see us beating Provy twice and splitting with everyone else. That's 10-8. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Remember too the Steere kid will be available to play in the next couple of weeks which should bring them some more depth upfront... The BE season is going to be a rock fight each night...

Interested in how you arrived at this forecast. Are you assuming the Hoyas will play more like the UNCG game or the Ok State game? If it's the latter, they can (not necessarily will) beat any Big East team. Which games are totally out of reach?

I think 2-6 against Villanova, Seton Hall, Xavier, and Marquette. Then probably split with the other 5 teams so that’s 7-11 but given Butler, DePaul and Creighton’s early play I could at least one of those teams sweeping us. I need to see the Ok State team show up for multiple games before I’m ready to think that’s who we really are. But if that is our new normal then I don’t disagree we’ll be much more competitive than this.
