That game looked like Kevin Kelly had snuck into the Cooper Field press box. You're going up against one of the weakest Colgate pass defenses in a generation and GU passes for just 76 yards not counting the gift to Dereus. 71 yards in penalties.
Meanwhile, Brad Hurst continues to kick at a 35 degree angle. Hurst is a fine punter, but the most frustrating PK since Michael Gillman.

Who was the kicker before Buerba? Eric Bjornerud. I thought there was one more. Guess not.

the strange thing about hurst is his PAT's when he makes them the ball goes booming through uprights. kicks would be good from 40 yards. in his FG tries - its as if he over hits the ball and they are a line drive 4' off the ground. its similar to over hitting your tee ball in golf. given how inconsistent on offense we are - we need perfection on special teams and no turnovers and penalties. Yesterday was recipe for disaster. we have some v good players on the wing still. get the ball to them. let Brunell play last couple of games if healthy (just don't have him run same offense that Johnson runs). Brunell can air it out. and he steps up into the pocket. hes not a runner so don't expose him to same volume of hits Johnson takes. we are playing for next year - again. we have 2 weeks to figure this out before we tee it up again
