Almost a lifetime ago since the Big Red dominated college hockey. With Ken Dryden, Ferguson and Lodboa. Witnessed some great games against BU in the late 60s with only a handful of Americans on the ice. It's been close to twenty years since Cornell made a frozen four. Don't think those days will ever return to Ithaca Cornell hockey fans have the same level of unbridled optimism about their return to legitimate competitiveness for a national championship as do Hoya basketball fans. I resent this implication. My optimism has always been bridled.

Another fun one to watch and great win at Cornell to spoil their festivities. The defense has really come up big in a few must stop scenarios. This is really looking like it’s going to be a fun season. I’d love the opportunity to replay Davidson today. In their summary of homecoming Cornell downplayed the football loss to the Hoyas. The only mention was as follows: On Saturday, the Big Red Fan Festival was in full swing before the football game against Georgetown. There were tent parties sponsored by Big Red Athletics, Classes of the 1970s and 1980s, Cornell Mosaic, the Tower Club, Sororities and Fraternities, and Young Alumni Programs, as well as some of the university’s colleges and professional schools.

As noted above, I was there with my Cornell girlfriend/alumna. We spent the majority of the pregame festivities, and the first few minutes of the game, at the Cornell Mosaic tent, which is an organization celebrating diversity and advancing inclusion, consisting of separate groups (Cornell Asian Alumni Association, Cornell Black Alumni Association, Cornell Black Lawyers Alumni Network, Cornell Latino Alumni Association, Cornell Native American Alumni Association, Cornell University Gay and Lesbian Alumni, and Latino Lawyers of Cornell). I'm not sure any of our fellow attendees actually cared about going to the football game, let alone who might win it.
