Jahseem Felton has carried a big reputation with him since middle school as he has been ranked, by many, among the top players in his class since the sixth grade. “I bring energy, I play defense. I can score the ball and handle under pressure, too," Felton said. "I bring a lot of energy to the floor, but with my scoring and my handle I hear a lot of people say I play like Ja Morant.” His game has already drawn the interest of some big-name college programs around the country. “Right now I have offers from Georgetown, Kansas, Ole Miss, Wake (Forest), South Alabama and the Florida Gators.” Georgetown: “They’re a big-time school. Coach Patrick Ewing is a great coach, and Allen Iverson is one of the greatest point guards ever. It seems like a great place. I’ve heard a lot about it since I was a young person.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/top-programs-intrigued-by-young-phenom-jahseem-felton

It's hard to ignore 6-foot-8 Derik Queen as the freshman’s talent has already drawn many accolades across the country, including offers from college programs. “What I do best on the court is I can score it and I also pass it really well. A lot of people have said I play like Melo, because of where I like to catch it on the floor, in the mid-post.” Queen said, “I currently have offers from Virginia Tech, Maryland, Georgetown, Arizona State and LSU. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/derik-queen-not-letting-early-attention-get-to-his-head

Harper’s father, Ron Harper, won five NBA Championships. Harper’s older brother, Ron Harper, Jr., has declared for the 2021 NBA draft after averaging 14.9 points at Rutgers this past season. Clearly, Harper's family has set the pace, “I know my family’s history in basketball, and I am proud of that, but I just try and go out and get myself better every day.” Running his own race, the smooth Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep lefty carries a high IQ with a great frame and pace to his game as he averaged 20 points throughout the weekend. Looking dominant at times, Harper carries early offers from Georgetown and Rutgers. In time, expect this one to pick up on a national level. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/shaw-s-takeaways-big-shots-philly-pride

Rounding out the list of top performers on Saturday is Klairus Amir out of Marietta (Ga.) Osborne, playing with Nightrydas 15s. Amir left an impression with his size, length and ability to make shots with range for such a young prospect. Amir possesses good size for the position at 6-foot-6 with a slender frame at 165-pounds and long arms. It's still very early in the development process for Amir but those physical tools coupled with his smooth shooting stroke both off the catch and bounce was eye-catching. He made several shots from beyond the stripe and showed the ability to connect from even beyond the stripe. Recruitment: Amir already holds two high majors offers from Xavier and Penn State. He also is receiving interest from USC, Miami, Georgetown and Cincinnati. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Bob-Gibbons-Tournament-of-Champions-Rocky-Top-Invitational-Saturday-recap-top-performers-165443888/

WHAT'S NEXT?“I am trying to get my shooting on point and get my handle tighter” Harper said, “My dream school is Michigan; I grew up a fan of them and all. But time will tell with that.” We shall see how it will unfold.

Jakhi Howard A 6-foot-6 swingman out of Florida, it would not surprise me if Howard will be included in our initial 2024 ranking list when it is released later on in the year. Howard is a long and athletic perimeter prospect who plays hards in spurts and is productive on both ends when doing so. He has the intangibles to be effective on the glass, defending, or as a scoring option on the floor at the next level. He may not be ready to consistently dominate on the offensive end right now but there are long-term tools suited for the high major level with his size, length, versatility, and shooting mechanics. Recruitment: Howard already holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Georgetown, LSU, Rutgers, and Ole Miss. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Triple-Threat-Alert-2024-Basketball-Recruiting-Jahki-Howard-Tre-Johnson-Dasean-Brodie-162934005/Recruitment: Howard already has offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Illinois, LSU, Ole Miss, and Rutgers. Why coaches will watch: It will not take long for high major coaches to realize that Jahki Howard has all the tools in place to have a very bright future in the game. He is a lengthy athletic wing whose level of activity on the defensive end and highlight dunks in transition are beyond exciting to watch. Already with eight high major offers at his disposal, I can expect that list to crack double digits by the end of next week. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/GBCA-Live-Period-Kanaan-Carlyle-Ernest-Udeh-Barry-Dunning-Isaiah-Collier-Jahki-Howard-166693586/

This weekend, however, will be about seeing if his skill set has progressed. Howard will run up against solid competition at the weekend event and will have a stage to show off his improving perimeter skills. Howard is a tantalizing prospect because of his massive ceiling, and watching him begin to reach it would be a pleasure. The 2024 prospect already holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Georgetown and others. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/i-ve-got-five-on-it-prospects-to-watch-at-the-dt-academy
