If it makes anybody feel better, we did pick up a Sibley crystal ball prediction this morning... from the HawkeyeInsider.com guy. (Supposed to be down to us & Iowa) That sounds promising. Iowa just got a commitment from 2 twin forwards today is the reason.

If he were to sign sibley wouldn’t there be a log jam at the forward spots. we already have Leblanc, Gardner, Alexander, Pickett and Williams on board for next year. Who gonna ?

It could be a full house for a year or two, depending on whether Josh feels NBA ready or anybody leaves. But in a good, competitive way. Right now everybody but Josh on that list has to play their way into the rotation.

It's only 1 year and I think Gardner is going to play more 2 than a lot on this board want to recognize. There have been limited recruiting efforts at that position but we seem to be going after a couple of forwards after already getting the Williams commit.

Alexander hasn't played a minute yet. Who knows what we'll get? Pickett? Had a mostly lost sophomore year & now he's facing more competition. Does he step up this year or get passed over? We'll see. Yeah - they'll probably both be playing some, but will it be 25-30 mpg or backup minutes? I'm guessing Pat doesn't even know the answer to that just yet.

It would only be a log jam for one year assuming everyone stays. Then there would be plenty of minutes once Pickett and Alexander graduate. Gardner will mostly play 2/3. Heard Sibley could also play some small ball 5, but not sure how realistic that is rn given his frame.

Definefinly a logjam in yr one.

Speaking of Gardner. He's 6-6, how much difference is there between a big guard(2) and a small forward (3). I would say traditionally, not much! I think he will play on the perimeter and slash to the basket. He's strong, aggresive and plays through contact....just what we've been looking for.

It's a feature of a good team to have some decent guys who don't get a ton of minutes... not a bug.

I'm not sure how anyone could watch his high school videos, see how he was used in the Bahamas and not see that he is going to get some minutes at 2 spot.
