Teal is not our school color. It should not be showcased. Just stupid!

They are not trying to recruit us as spectators to play on the team but young people who more than likely think it's cool. I think they are nice looking.

Doesn’t matter if the color is nice, it not ours. Especially, the gray and navy have significant meaning to our school. Also, we lose more in teal or white. 😉

Do u guys think we have have enough forwards already. I mean we already have LeBlanc, Pickett, Alexander, Gardner and Williams for next yr. If Sibley were to sign, who sits?

It’s crowded Sibley’s freshman year, but 3 of those guys are probably gone after year 1. Wilson may slot at the 4 ultimately with some skill development (and Q and Timmy more natural 5s).

Is the more frequent use of Teal because the kids seem to like it? It seems garish colors are cooler these days -- a little 80s/early 90s throwback is part of the style with young kids. I agree with the poster that said we should stick to Blue & Gray because of its incredible significance to the school, but I think we could use a real uniform revamp if we aren't going throwback to Ewing or Iverson days. I thought Black was a far more badass alternative than Teal, but then I do like the perception of us as Hoya Paranoia. The Teal looks like something the Fresh Prince would wear at best and at worst maybe the color of one of Barney's dinosaur friends. But if kids like it... I guess you gotta recruit.

Last season Ewing said that he liked the tidal blue uniforms because they reminded him of his freshman year at Georgetown.

Last season Ewing said that he liked the tidal blue uniforms because they reminded him of his freshman year at Georgetown. With all due respect to the head coach and a contemporary of my years at GU, this is nonsense. Patrick would do well to compare these two jerseys and note the difference. The team jerseys are another marketing ploy by Nike who Georgetown does not want to say no to, for reasons many are familiar with. if Nike sent over green and gold jerseys, I'm sure someone would justify it, too.

The 2017-2019 photo you used is of the alternate teal jersey, not the throwback tidal blue jersey Jamari Sibley is wearing. By my count below are the different jerseys the team wore last season: gray throwback gray blue white black teal throwback tidal blue Also, your 1979-1982 photo seems darker than what the jerseys look like in this video.

Notwithstanding the poor lighting in DFW’s photo, the abomination we call tidal blue is several shades lighter than the 1982 road jersey, a framed, signed Ewing edition of which resides in my office.

Please get here quickly November. I'm begging you. Please. At least tomorrow is BE media day. That will give us something more substantive to talk about for a day or two.

Notwithstanding the poor lighting in DFW’s photo, the abomination we call tidal blue is several shades lighter than the 1982 road jersey, a framed, signed Ewing edition of which resides in my office. Yes, it's probably somewhere in between. The Louisiana Superdome was notorious for dark lighting given its size, so much so that there was real concern entering Super Bowl XII that the cameras might not use the right aperture and the game coverage could be lost to history. The warmups probably weren't that bright either, but we're splitting hairs--it wasn't the teal look. Nike, ever resistant to customer goodwill, could resuscitate that 1982 jersey color (or better yet, the 1985 Final Foir look) without too much effort--it was their design after all and remains their intellectual property. Instead, their efforts to "Oregonize" the jerseys have led to widespread rumbling that suggests that Ewing and his staff are tone deaf about the right colors. After all, it was the numerous complaints about the look of the 1982 jerseys on TV that led Frank Rienzo to go for the royal blue jerseys of Ewing's heyday and that is what the colors should be aspiring to, not yet another tired example of "turning back the clock" to something that never existed in the first place. For those of a certain age who missed the understated, kente-free glory of the 1985 team, an example via Getty Images.

I don’t recall the Union soldiers wearing teal. Good thing Nike wasn’t around then or history may have taken another course. I mean, teal is an easy target.
