I think everyone's feelings on BC selling out another Catholic school that shares its roots, academic tradition, and geography are well known. Now that its official how do you feel?

I'm a grad student at BC. I've made my thoughts known about those assclowns time and time again. Biggest fairweather fans in the country (except their hockey fans, they're legit). I couldn't care less what league they are in, they'll always have their Notre Dame inferiority complex, their ugly italicized numbers and letters on their jerseys and a bunch of idiot fans who don't know the difference between Jim O'Brien and Pat O'Brien.

I just found it hilarious that "yes" wasn't an option. But don't get me wrong, I would not have voted yes. I will still respect Al Skinner as a coach, but the rest can BIH.

It really doesn't matter to me really. Its business never personal. They did what they felt was the best business move for them. Syracuse had flirted with the idea as well. I think Al Skinner is a good coach.I never really hated BC when they were in the Big East. If they are in the ACC, so be it. Its nothing to get angry over. They are in foreign country now. We need to focus on what is important in our neck of the woods. BC is in another place now.

Anyone who did not choose option B might want to read this column by Patrick Hruby, which explains - quite clearly - why the rest of us did (and why the board continues to gripe about Coach K & Duke, why jokes about Craig Esherick won't die, and why threads about Syracuse's troubles often get more posts than those about Jeff Green's skills). This was good stuff. Goooooddd STUFF! sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hruby/050705

How is out and out lying to a bunch of schools that counted on you as academic and athletic breathern not personal? Also, as much money gets thrown around in college sports, it should still never be ALL business. It's also about integrity and upholding the rep of your school. But I guess BC didn't get that memo.

Jeff Green doesn't get burn here because people are so in love with Rudy Gay on this message board. Most people on this board hang on to every word ESPN, Andy Katz, Joe Lunardi, and Rivals.com says. Their opinion is shaped by those sources. What is covered most from those sources: Duke, Coach K, not too many articles pertaining to Jeff Green, every freaking recruit that is going to Duke, Shavilick Randolph. Syracuse is our rival and in the Big East. Anything bad going on there would more than likely be posted on a rival board. The Esherick thing will never die on this board because a a portion of this board had involvement with organized "events" around the time of his firing. Plus, a good part of this board hates Esh. I mean hates Esh with a passion. So, you will hear many responses about these topics.
In terms of honor and integrity, honor and integrity and college athletics are like oil and water. They don't mix. If you want honor and integrity, join the boy scouts. You are not going to find too much in college athletics particuarly when millions and billions of dollars are involved.

If we allow BC to lie and act like scum, then it will become commonplace. But if we don't accept it and demand conserquences for such terrible actions, then at least to some extent schools will be dissuaded from such behavior. College athletics has, and will, become what we let it become.

When it comes to money, that is what talks in this world, especially athletics. BC did what it had to do in terms of money. You can't get mad at that. You may not like it , I may not like it, but is how it is. That is what this country is built upon. Money. Its why College Football has these asinine bowl games, when they simply could have a playoff. Money, money, money.

BC did not have to do what it did. And even in terms of pure $$$, this move may turn out to be a poor decision. We'll have to see how it pans out in the long run.

If 1) hate is good and 2) Yoda is right that hate leads to the Dark Side, then I am all for hate. Which leads to the conclusion that the more hatred we exhibit on this board - the sooner that the Evil Empire that is/was Georgetown basketball will return.
For example, I mainly hate all New York and Boston sports teams but will redirect that hatred towards every ACC team save Virginia and every other Big East team.

The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that hate - for lack of a better word - is good. Hate is right. Hate works. Hate clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Hate, in all of it's forms -- hate for Syracuse, for BC, the ACC -- has marked the upward surge of Hoya-kind and hate, you mark my words, will not only save this message board but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you.

We all know it was all about the bucks - but I wonder how much they enjoy the ACC when their football team doesn't go to bowls anymore, their basketball team has to play Duke and UNC every year and they have astronomical travel expenses. Good move BC, you liars, burn in hell.

StPete, we were just quoting "Wall Street." Wasn't trying to make any sort of comment on the whole BC situation. Boz quoted the now infamous Gordon Gecko speech to the Teldar Paper shareholders, while I quoted a random Gecko-Bud Fox conversation. So chill out, ya wound up bastard
