He doesn't want to sit behind a 3 star kid who just won BET MVP.

He doesn't want to sit behind a 3 star kid who just won BET MVP. This may have been said elsewhere and I just haven't read it yet, but I think this is a very big deal in respect to our point guard recruiting. A kid who just won BET MOP is not going to be a reserve next year, or likely the year after, and good for him. No class of 21 point guard, and quite possibly no highly recruited class of 22 point guard is going to want to play multiple years as a reserve. Therefore, if we even have space, I think a fifth year transfer is the way to go, at least for recruiting this year, and quite possibly next year as well.

For rest, injury, etc. The key is can a kid be comfortable playing 20 minutes vs. 30 minutes? Dug McDaniel played alongside Roach & Keels. Roach handled the ball his first two years in high school so what we are talking about here isn't much different. The change is on the D end. If we got Dug, we would be lightning. There would be no drop off in speed of play and sometimes you could run out both. I agree that in the '21 class, we probably rely on some combination of Beard playing some point but with the advantage of being able to bring him along slower than Dante was forced to. There was a reason we stunk early in the year.

Stash him there, get experience - then a grad transfer to the Hoyas! Wasn't this the kid from Louisiana who wanted to be a Hoya, but we were "loaded" at his position? 6'2" PG, 41% 3FG, 90% FT, 6 pts/g in 13 mpg with 3 years left. Give him a call.

I know these are desperate times, but getting the backup PG from a 9-24 Northwestern State team is NOT the way we get out of the cellar. He needs to be option Z in the transfer portal, no offense to the kid.

Unless he is trying to get one of those 13 open spots on a certain local team.
