Senior captain Dylan Nealis makes Herman Award Watchlist.
Well-deserved honor for one of the best two way players in the nation.

Just came from training with boys up at Germantown.
Team looks very sharp and has lots of weapons.
Harry ended practice by scoring a PK and then selecting the starting 11 for the game tomorrow night at PennState.
As always, Coach and the team treat Harry like royalty.

Cuse: Juiced
Was very disappointed not to be able to sneak off from work on the Friday afternoon before the long weekend - really wish this had been a weekend game - but got to catch a fair amount of it on the livestream. Seemed like there was a good crowd on hand, although the usual ring of students around the perimeter of the field was absent this time around (due to the ongoing construction nearby, maybe?).
It's saying something that this looks like it might be the fastest Georgetown team I've seen yet when you consider that Achara did not play! The Orangeatans were forced into extended periods of defending and throwing most of their numbers behind the ball. They also had to a commit more than their fair share of fouls. The combo of the two worked to stymie the Hoyas into a 1-1 draw... until the deciding goal with about 18 minutes left broke open the game, forced Cuse to suddenly throw numbers forward, and opened them up for the third goal.
You can only tell so much from one game, but I am legitimately very excited about this squad. There was a *team* offensive dynamism that I don't think I've seen since the days of Brandon Allen and Alex Muyl.

Creativity, speed and finishing ability abound. If the back four hold up well, this team has serious possibilities.

A hot Labor Day on the Hilltop, and there were some occasionally labored stretches of play, but for the most part it was a clear display of superior skill on the part of this Hoyas this afternoon. I give Temple credit for playing very hard - and, at times, very physical - but they simply did not have the horses to compete with Georgetown. The last half-hour or so saw numerous substitutions on both sides, perhaps as much a function of the heat as the desire to apportion out PT. Regardless, always good to see fresh faces out there in real-game situations. That includes the very-promisingly named Tomas Romero (if he is half the keeper Tomas Gomez was, the Hoyas are in good, good hands for years), who got the start in goal and
If you take away one thing from this game, though, let it be this: Dante Polvara is a dangerous man. His was the last goal, but it was surely primus inter pares.
Goal one: the very canny Notre Dame transfer Rothrock feeds a ball into the middle of the 18, where Sean Zawadski is inexplicably left unmarked, with a teammate streaking in alongside him. He takes a touch and cooly deposits the ball in the corner as the 6'9 Temple keeper goes to ground and takes himself out of the action
Goal two: Nealis with a header outside the near post that completely changes the arc of the corner and causes it to float over the helpless, wrong-footed keeper
Goal OMFG:

As I saw at training in Germantown this team has a varied array of weapons and can hurt a defense a lot of ways.
6 goals in the last two games and Achara has not even seen the field.
This can be a very dangerous team and a very exciting season.
Tough trip out west but these guys have a lot of answers.

Could Polvara make a cameo appearance at the "other football" games just to kick field goals?

UCLA is 2-1 having beaten #1 UMD, 3-2 in which Milan Iloski score a hat trick. This will be a tough game for the Hoyas, as UCLA is very good at home. Go Hoyas!!!

Incredible! And televised too, which is nice.
Hard to believe this is a UCLA team that beat Maryland and lost to Indiana in 2OT.
