I think he starts over Pickett/Mosely. Mac will always start. Bingo!

Nice pickup bringing added length and some depth at the 2/3 position.

Just off the measurables without footage I see a Jabril type player who can play the 2 or 3 and be a monster defender as a shooting guard. That was a big hole for us because Maclung is under sized at the 2 and Malinowkski had zero defense.

Welcome to Galen. Kid looks like a player from the limited footage I've seen. The aggression is what excites me the most. It will help keep our effort more consistent and at a higher level moving forward.
Greg and Kaleb combined for 29 mpg this season; would think there's enough there to carve out a significant role for Galen without negatively impacting Pickett. The two can be used in tandem as well in short spurts given their versatility.

Unless Jamorko significantly improves his ball handling by next year I see Galen eating up most of his minutes. Having a third player on the court who can score off the dribble and who can take it to the hoop will be too inviting for PE to ignore.

Per DJ on Facebook DJ has coached against Galen. Josh played AAU with him. He is tough and is an excellent defender. Said that he and Eric Paschal were the same player. THANKS AGAIN DJ OWENS ONEHECKOFAHOYA GO LOUISIANA>

It looks from the clips like Galen is bringing some of that Akinjo-type fire. I like the competitiveness of this group of guys. Top to bottom we have competitive dudes. I feel like that's a step in the right direction.
Welcome to the Hilltop to Mr. Alexander!

Short version: 6'6 215lbs tough, slashing wing. Just turned 20. Ranked 135 out of HS. Offers from LSU, Texas, Alabama, St. Johns amongst others. Committed to LSU, dismissed for undisclosed rules violation. Concerning but... ...Kirby knows the family personally so not as risky. 17ppg 8rebs 53/35/70 in JuCo. Welcome Galen! There is no place on HoyaTalk for this sort of concise, accurate and informative post. Needs flame. Paschal comparison should make us happy - shot 45(?)/35/70 this year and grabbed 6+ rebs. Worthy of he can match that, but I bet his fg% is better. Welcome to the Hilltop G-Man!

So should Jamorko be worried? Won't Jamorko be a senior by the time Galen sees action as a Hoya?

When can Galen be on campus? As soon as the university admits him?

Kenner will be fun to assess the readiness of Yurt, Galen, Q, Tim-Iggy, Malcom in the Middle, etc.

We'll see how this works out. I have a healthy amount of skepticism about this guy given his past - I had the same skepticism of Josh Smith, and it turned out to be well-founded.
As in that case, I'd prefer that the staff wasn't reduced to taking risks like this; everyone deserves a second chance but there's usually a reason a person needs one.
I hope I'm wrong and he flourishes, of course.

I hope I'm wrong and he flourishes, of course. The character risks were known and the coaching staff was able to be analyze these risks with first-hand input from Kirby, LeBlanc, and others. I'm confident that we were able to check the boxes before offering. But, point well taken, there is some increased risk here. At least in Galen's case, the risks seemingly don't spill over to weight, conditioning, and on-the-court intensity. Josh Smith was a true roll of the dice.

Allen Iverson was given a second chance and that worked. Ed SHeffey, Victor Page, Kenny Brunner....our program as well as many others have a laundry list of successes and failures. Sometimes the failures lead to an increased focus for a kid so I'll wish him all the luck and hope it works out.
