Yes. Memphis was always going to be a participant in the Moussa Cisse sweepstakes since it is recruiting at the highest level and the five-star is one of the best in the 2021 class. Cisse’s move to Memphis only enhances its chances now that he can be deemed a local target that will definitely be on campus a number of times in the coming months thanks to his enrollment to Lausanne Collegiate.
His recruitment will not be an easy one to win, though. Georgetown, UConn and a slew of other respected programs will definitely put up a fight. However, with the way Memphis has recruited since Penny Hardaway was hired and that he has not allowed many from the city leave the area for college, it is only a fair assumption to say that Memphis will be one of the top contenders for Cisse.

If the biggest competition Memphis is facing right now is Georgetown and UConn, then this recruitment is over for us. A 5 star with his skills will soon bring in the BB and take this to the next level.

Cisse moving to Memphis could actually work against Penny. I'm not sure of Moussa's story but if he was in NY for awhile it could be a culture shock going south.

Cisse moving to Memphis could actually work against Penny. I'm not sure of Moussa's story but if he was in NY for awhile it could be a culture shock going south. Very very true. I went from living most of my life in Queens/Brooklyn N.Y. and then on the west coast in L.A. to moving to Tampa, Florida and it was almost as if I moved to different country. It took me years to adjust. I'm in no way disparaging the Southern United States, I'm just being honest that for a black man who's lived in N.Y., going to the south is a major culture class. He may not like Memphis Tenn and decided he wants to be back in the north east. Again, I think it depends on if his family or guardian(s) has made the move with him to Memphis for something other then hoops or is he there by himself. If he moved to Memphis for basketball reasons primarily, that could be the red flag signal that it's time to move on...

The latest list I’ve received for Cisse includes Florida State, USC, Georgetown, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, Memphis, Georgia, Connecticut, Virginia and UCLA. Cisse visited Florida State this past weekend, and to date doesn’t have any other visits scheduled. Once the season is over, Cisse plans to take more. At the moment, Cisse is a 2021 prospect, but there’s a possibility that he reclassifies to 2020. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/AskEvan-A-needed-reminder-that-it-pays-to-be-patient-142899242

It’s a good thing we recruited three centers last year. 😉

Feel like this is a waste of time and resources unless Cisse has expressed a strong interest in the program.

Patrick must have gotten a good vibe off Cisse last year when he saw him and Christ the King beat our primary target RJ Davis (UNC) and AJ Griffin Jr. (Duke verbal) of Stepinac at the NYC CHSAA AA Championship at Fordham U's Rose Hill Gymnasium. Cisse was spectacular and Ewing reached out then. Notwithstanding the move to Tennessee, Ewing must feel he has a connection. Oh, and if we were in a position to get Cisse, 3 centers or not, you take him.

Cisse's game is very similar - I would say redundant - to Wahab, even as he is a hell of a presence. He can't play far from the basket at all.
Christ the King put a triangle and two on Davis and Griffin in last year's CHSAAs final and Stepinac kept running the same ineffective sets for most of the second half and CTK won. Ewing was at the game, it was before Davis completely blew up and when the Hoyas seem to have a great shot at him..
