Just went on to the homepage for the first time in a very long time and am shocked by what i was seeing....when did it essentially turn into a hate blog on Georgetown basketball? Its horrible!! Can't imagine that's good for viewership/ratings....or maybe it is...I'm stumped.
The three cover stories are as follows:
(1) A pre-game report saying that the Hoyas happened to beat SJU but only because SJU shot poorly and had poor clock management.....nothing about our defense or the Hoyas being the reason for SJU's poor play. Nothing about McClung's coming out party in MSG....etc
(2) Xavier owns the Hoyas, and
(3) We got a recruit who is an endangered species because he's a center. No mention of Q's last official visit being at Syracuse just 7 weeks ago.
Can someone prescribe the writers and editors high dosages of anti-depressants? Sheesh!

Pretty much stopped visiting the homepage years ago. But then again this fanbase in general can be pretty sad overall. People are either hating the coach or under-appreciating the players.
By the way can the Hoyas claim any victories from defeats in which they shot poorly? Because obviously that had nothing to do with our opponent, just our ineptness at that moment, right?

Back in the day, I use to visit it frequently but also just gave up a while back due to the reasons you stated. The only time I look at it now is when someone mentions it on this board for one reason or another.

Agree. Most of what I see are critical pieces.

I haven't visited the site in years, nor can I understand why any Georgetown FAN would do so. It's run by clowns, as evidenced by the content, which speaks for itself. For all of the Georgetown hate, those running that site should just become Syracuse fans -- everyone would be better off.

What is written is proportionate to the state of the Georgetown basketball program over the past years. If success comes and the narrative doesn’t that would be an issue

Don't worry staff writers....Hoyas will lose soon enough and you will have more content to work with..... Looks like you may have to wait a few more days however.

Homepage is straight garbage, I peaked in once about a year ago and went on a full blown tangent in regards to what I was seeing. You would think they wanted the program to fail.

I really try to bite my tongue on things like this because there has been so much nastiness around this program the last few years. But wasn't the OP brazenly predicting transfers at the end of the season like a week ago? Maybe we all ought to look in the mirror a little?

I was just reporting what I heard from a very credible source and thought i’d share it as I was truly alarmed by what I heard. I also said I hoped that winning would cure some of the problems. I think if you look at my track record, 95% of my posts are positive while trying at the same time to maintain some objectivity. What I am pointing out here is that the homepage is overwhelmingly negative....to the point of making it seem like getting a commitment from Wahab is somehow problematic. The storyline could just have easily been..”last time the Hoyas beat out the Cuse for a recruit his name was Jessie Govan, this time its Wahab”.

I thought it was just me when I read these posts. We are in the best position we have been in years and our recruiting stinks , coach stinnks , players stink if you read alot of the posts. Go Hoyas looking forward to becoming the Beast Of The East again. Keep up the work Coach Ewing. ALWAYS POSITIVES taking from games lets focus on the positives.

The good news is that the guys all seem engaged and about their team. If someone decides to make a decision for their future after the season, there's not much point in worrying about it right now. For now, they're playing like a team and I especially liked how, in the second half, when Mac attempted to get down the floor for a possible run-out while blowing his defensive assignment, Akinjo was on him immediately. That's what players on a team have to do for one another. Coaches can't be those people on the floor.

I would speculate that the depressing state of the program over the last few years, coupled with disagreement with the scope and direction of the last coaching search, have influenced DFW's mindset regarding Hoya bball right now; in addition, we have all had our hopes raised by minor successes over the last few years only to crash back down to earth, so there may be an abundance of caution/brakepumping??

Front page should generally be upbeat. It’s a fan site and others may land on it.
