I'll take that half. No killer runs by St. John's.

I'll take that half. No killer runs by St. John's. That was key. That lineup we had out there at 22-18 I feared was going to produce that run.

Turnovers are going to be a constant that we need to improve. If it was good defense that be one thing but so much of it is careless passing or driving to nowhere.

I'll take that half. No killer runs by St. John's. Totally agree. I love so many things about the way this team plays and what Pat is doing. But he has to get some help with late-game strategy and coaching. He just doesn’t have a clue about how to put his guys in the right positions to finish games. Some of that is obviously our youth. But our youngsters make the same mistakes again and again...which has to change. Pat has to go out and hire a guy who can teach him and the kids that skill.

The fact we’ve led in virtually every game at half tells me we can compete with anyone. We just have to be better in a.) building a bigger lead or b.) execute in the last two minutes. We e done neither to date and our record shows it.

Definitely glad we have the lead, but for sure a few things we need to clean up if we want to sustain it going into the next half

Mac’s ahead of Akinjo at the moment, primarily for one reason—no matter what, his confidence doesn’t get shaken.

I'm glad that Mac is playing this game. Have to cut down those stupid TOs. SJU is 10-13 in the paint; got to secure down low this half.

I am live at game, it’s been very exciting!
We need to go into Govan a bit more and hopefully Leblanc can get into the flow now. Solid half. Let’s see if we can finish this one off.

Keep in mind we held Ponds down. Can we do that for the next 20?

Freshman have to continue playing within themselves and put team first to get the win, don’t try to outdo each other, play for one another.

Keep in mind we held Ponds down. Can we do that for the next 20? Offensively (short of cutting down TOs) can’t play much better. Defense will be the key.

doing ok so far, just got to keep up energy and avoid a second half letdown - I feel like the Hoyas' were a little too jacked up at first due to the big game atmosphere but have calmed down well. Seems like there's been more of an effort to run offense thru Govan either in the post or PnR. I like the Akinjo-Govan PnR and Mac driving and collapsing the D. Also like seeing Pickett on the block too, hope they keep going back to that.
defensively the interior defense, especially the help D, hasn't been very good. Bigs really have to do a better job of recognizing and stepping up on the drive and on cutters coming free.
Akinjo and McClung have done pretty well, a little out of control at times but they're making plays and don't appear to be letting the moment get in their heads. Need more Kaleb and less Mourning for bench minutes, and probably less Malinowski too since he seems a step slow today against SJU's athletes.
