At this point, one's positions on policies shouldn't even enter the conversation. The remains of the "Republican" party continue to affirm that their main goal is to dismantle American democracy. Anyone that continues to support these people with their votes or their wallets are the furthest thing from patriots. A vote for any one of these people is a slap in the face to any and all who have served in any branch of service at a bare minimum. Unfortunately, as we have seen from some of those charged in the Capitol riot, and from what I can gather from many military veterans’ collection of bumper stickers, there is a significant portion of former and current service members who support this nonsense and the autocratic leanings of Trumpian politics. I can’t even pretend to have have respect or gratitude for the service members, current or former, who endorse this sort of American “democracy”. If these are the “ideals” they thought they were fighting for, why should I be thankful? They are antithetical to what it means to be an actual patriot. This isn’t simply “Republican” vs “Democrat”, it’s anti-democracy vs. democracy. This may be an unpopular opinion, but it’s one I’ve been forced to espouse. Agreed on the democracy vs. anti-democracy. That said, the vast majority of service members are on the right side of history on this. As with everything else, those that do the right things rarely get the attention. It's the minority of folks that have lost their damned minds that do.

MAGA GOPers - immune to facts and reason. ("Republican leaders" the very definition of an oxymoron - try "Republican bootlicking toadies and enablers" instead). Another door slammed shut Friday on the ceaseless and fraudulent campaign by Donald Trump to claim fraud about the 2020 election. The fact that the door closed will not stop Trump from continuing to make his baseless claims about last year’s vote. It should but probably won’t chasten Republican leaders who have refused to fully face up to the consequences of what Trump is doing. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/dan-balz-take-arizona-review/2021/09/25/d95f8ccc-1da8-11ec-a99a-5fea2b2da34b_story.html

I’m certainly not saying that all, or even most, service members are anti-democratic Trump supporters. The ones that are, however, are deeply disappointing.

Not surprisingly, since the US military is majority White male, it skews Republican. Accordingly, it will mirror a non-representative slice of America which will include a greater proportion of reprobate supporters of the sociopath. For decades, the majority white male U.S. military has been largely Republican — but the 2020 vote is a lot less predictable, election experts, former officers and military advocacy groups said. President Donald Trump is responsible for some of the shift, they said, due to erratic public policy changes he’s announced by tweet, his volatile public falling out with former Marine Corps Generals James Mattis and John Kelly and his disparaging remarks about war heroes, including late Sen. John McCain. In the end, how the military votes may have more to do with the more progressive social views of the Millennial generation now serving, and with their exhaustion over the government’s inability to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and Iraq, veterans interviewed by McClatchy said. www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/election/article246835432.html

It's a surprise to no one that the truth has absolutely no value in Trump's world. In fairness, it never has.

Even Kirkland & Ellis apparently didn't want this MAGA GOPer scumbag lawyer back. And K & E took back numerous lawyers who enabled the sociopath. Clark is GULC '95. A group of legal heavyweights on Tuesday asked the disciplinary panel of the D.C. Court of Appeals to investigate a former Department of Justice (DOJ) official who allegedly sought to use his official position in the federal government to overturn former President Trump’s election defeat. (GULC grad). In a 15-page ethics complaint, the group said former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark should face disciplinary action over his alleged attempt in late December to subvert the 2020 election result in part by proposing that he and two other top DOJ officials send letters to state leaders, including those in Georgia, making the unfounded claim that the department “identified concerns that may have impacted the outcome of the election in multiple states.” thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/575284-group-asks-dc-court-panel-to-investigate-doj-official-who-peddledClark does nutjob Koch-funded litigation since K & E declined to welcome him back. He resigned from the Justice Department on January 14, 2021. He currently works as the Chief of Litigation and Director of Strategy for the New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA), which describes itself as a nonpartisan, nonprofit civil rights organization whose goal is "to protect constitutional freedoms from violations by the Administrative State." The NCLA is mainly funded by the Charles Koch Foundation. The organization's current focus is opposition to vaccine mandates and other Covid-19-related regulations and orders.

"Republicans" really are authoritarian, ignorant, malicious, sycophantic clowns. This is how the morons characterize the sociopath's attempt to corrupt DOJ to subvert the election. Unfrigging believable - because the sociopath ultimately failed, apparently it's all cool. The counter-report by committee Republicans on Thursday emphasized that Trump ultimately backed away from the plan to replace Rosen with Clark and issue Clark’s letter: “President Trump’s actions were consistent with his responsibilities as President to faithfully execute the law and oversee the Executive Branch,” it says. www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/durbin-report-trump-pressure-justice/2021/10/07/b51712d4-2769-11ec-8d53-67cfb452aa60_story.htmlNothing but silence from complicit "Republicans." Both the Pence and DOJ gambits were extraordinary, and they were linked: Trying to get a Justice Department that doesn’t generally handle election disputes involved in officially questioning states’ results — and possibly appointing alternative electors — all while arguing that Pence could then use the DOJ-legitimized controversy to throw the results into doubt and allow Republicans in the House to effectively elect the new president. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/10/07/3-takeaways-senate-report-trumps-brazen-efforts-overturn-2020-election/

In the quoted paragraphs no. The earlier paragraphs leap to conclusions that are not yet supported by fact. I was profoundly disgusted by the 2008 result , not because Mr Obama is black, but because his resume was devoid of any substantial qualification for the office. My reaction was not violent protest or sky is falling rhetoric. A large component of these protesters are self- indulgent babies throwing a collective temper tantrum, simply because they don't like this result. That behavior is never acceptable. Wait for Trump to do something wrong in office. Actually be aggrieved before you act aggrieved. This would be a novel concept for the snowflake generation.
Maybe they should all go to a safe zone and cry./photo/1

MAGA GOP malignant clown judge. Moron. Why would you want to associate with Republicans if you are a sentient, rational human being, right? The glaring errors became clear soon after a former Wisconsin judge issued subpoenas earlier this month in a Republican review of the state’s 2020 presidential election. Some of the requests referred to the wrong city. At least one was sent to an official who doesn’t oversee elections. A Latin phrase included in the demands for records and testimony was misspelled. Michael Gableman, the former judge leading the review, admitted days later that he does not have “a comprehensive understanding or even any understanding of how elections work.” He then backed off some of his subpoena demands before reversing course again, telling a local radio host that officials would still be required to testify. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/10/14/wisconsin-election-review-gableman-errors/

The voting technology firm Smartmatic filed lawsuits against Newsmax and the parent company of One America News, alleging that the right-wing outlets knowingly spread disinformation during the 2020 U.S. presidential election and defamed the company by telling viewers, without evidence, that its technology was used to steal votes from then-President Donald Trump. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/11/04/smartmatic-sues-newsmax-oan-2020-us-election/

And the legal hits just keep on coming! ( But tough case in causation re: heart attacks). A Pennsylvania election official is suing former president Donald Trump, Rudolph W. Giuliani and other Trump associates for allegedly defaming him during the efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results to the point that he says he suffered two heart attacks. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/11/04/trump-giuliani-pennsylvania-lawsuit-election/
