What is the story here again? I've never heard a clear explanation of what the scandal is. Me neither. Months ago, when I was reading about it, it seemed like Republicans grasping at any last straw they could find. It didn't work out for them so they assisted in an attempt at insurrection. The sitting president included. Regardless of Hunter Biden's innocence or guilt, Republicans still, somehow, seem fine with a sitting president encouraging (at a minimum) an attempt at insurrection and the toppling of American democracy. And, apparently, Ed is in the camp of those focusing on, relatively, trivial accusations of a person that isn't elected to any office while the guy they support (and continue to) is, objectively, guilty of inciting an insurrection and, very possibly, treason. That's not even accounting for his own exceedingly sketchy financial dealings. I wonder if Trump ends up in prison if they'll finally admit they backed the wrong fat, stupid, racist horse. On edit: I realize the "fat" part was a cheap shot. I only included it because Trump is so vain that he blatantly lied about his own weight for 4 years and, somehow, got doctors to go along with it. Not surprising. We've seen Dr. Birx attempting to resurrect her reputation after having lied for the former president. She should lose her license to practice. As should any doctor that signed off on Trump's physical stating that he was either 241 or 239. We all have eyes and scales. I'm honestly curious. I've asked a bunch of times and never got a real answer.

I'm honestly curious. I've asked a bunch of times and never got a real answer. I am too. You'll never get an answer from those whose source of "news" (i.e., talking points) is Fox, Newsmax, and OANN. Despite the benefit of higher education, they've abandoned their capacity for independent thought and reason. They occupy a world of "alternative facts".

He's jus a wimp who doesn't want to be sued. Be a man, Ruddy, and stand behind the sociopath, like all good Republicans.

Facing down a billion-dollar lawsuit from Dominion, multiple sanctions motions, and bar complaints, lawyer Sidney Powell asked a federal judge last month to set up an evidentiary hearing in Wisconsin on election-fraud claims that were rejected by every court that heard them. Lawyers for Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) depicted that gambit as unnecessary and desperate in a new legal brief asking the judge to sanction her without all the fuss. “The motion is not a vehicle for re-litigating this court’s numerous rationales for dismissing the amended complaint,” the governor’s lawyer Jeffrey A. Mandell wrote in an eight-page brief on Wednesday. “Nor is it a request for a guided tour through the scattershot of supposed evidence that they flung at the wall here, in the vain hope that something would stick, or even leave a mark. The question at the heart of Governor Evers’s motion for fees is whether their lawsuit was filed in a proper way for a proper purpose. It was not.” lawandcrime.com/2020-election/wisconsin-governor-tells-judge-to-sanction-sidney-powell-without-re-litigating-her-mish-mash-mess-of-a-lawsuit/

Republicans are b*sh*t crazy. On a mission for "alternative facts" really. Delusional. Fueling the speculation have been the unorthodox practices of the contractors, who have been conducting physical examinations of the ballots, including inspecting their weight and thickness and examining folds on ballots under microscopes. At one point, workers were holding ballots up to UV lights. The purpose of such inspections has not been clear. Bennett at one point said the workers were hunting for watermarks — though county officials have said the Maricopa County ballots don’t bear watermarks. In an interview Wednesday with a local CBS affiliate, John Brakey — an assistant to Bennett who has described himself as a Democrat who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in 2020 — said workers were looking for traces of bamboo. Brakey cited unfounded accusations that 40,000 ballots were flown from Asia into Arizona. He added that he himself does not believe that theory. “What they’re doing is to find out if there’s bamboo in the paper,” he said, adding: “They’re doing all sorts of testing to prove if it was or wasn’t, and that’s very important, because the only way you’re going to persuade people on changing is having facts, and we’re on a mission for facts.”www.washingtonpost.com/politics/arizona-recount-observers/2021/05/05/b807c990-adc3-11eb-b476-c3b287e52a01_story.html

In the absence of evidence it is shameful to suggest that Biden stole the election.
But we have the vast majority of ignorant cultists who believe the sociopath's lies and a political party supporting that lie. Shameful.

FWIW I am with Liz Cheney. Biden was duly elected. I want to put Trump far away in the rearview mirror.

At least some Republicans are pushing back against the sociopath and his bootlicking toadies: The Republican-dominated Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on Monday denounced an ongoing audit of the 2020 election vote as a “sham” and a “con,” calling on the GOP-led state Senate to end the controversial recount that has been championed by former president Donald Trump. “It is time to make a choice to defend the Constitution and the Republic,” they wrote. “We stand united together to defend the Constitution and the Republic in our opposition to the Big Lie. We ask everyone to join us in standing for the truth,” they added, using a term that refers to the false claim that the election was stolen. “You have rented out the once good name of the Arizona State Senate to grifters and con-artists, who are fundraising hard-earned money from our fellow citizens even as your contractors parade around the Coliseum, hunting for bamboo and something they call ‘kinematic artifacts,’ ” the county’s five supervisors wrote in their letter Monday. “None of these things are done in a serious audit. The result is that the Arizona Senate is held up to ridicule in every corner of the globe and our democracy is imperiled.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/maricopa-county-2020-audit/2021/05/17/28292932-b74a-11eb-a6b1-81296da0339b_story.html?utm_campaign=wp_main&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0_BiRjETQ0iUbktb0eoW2APkCBjAqcpCKtCFyK-m5iubxvAGZon-Wx0VI
