My heart breaks as I sit here today in the final moments of a slow, three-year realization that the party of Lincoln is nearly dead, consumed by the ugly, destructive conduct of a dishonest, corrupt man who wears the stolen badge of Republicanism, transforming a once-great party into a racist nationalist movement that uses hate and fear to divide and destroy. amp-usatodaycom.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/1767510001?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASDYAQE%3D#aoh=15951916343160&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.usatoday.com%2Fstory%2Fopinion%2F2019%2F07%2F19%2Fsilent-republicans-allow-racist-trump-rhetoric-to-define-party-column%2F1767510001%2FFor all their handwringing since he crashed the Republican party, GOP lawmakers have never seemed to care too much about the fact of Donald Trump’s racism. Instead, their biggest concern has been his inability to hide it. In theory, the bigotries that animate the president’s worldview can be masked with euphemism and intimation. But the fact that he so often says the quiet part out loud—calling white supremacists “fine people;” telling congresswomen of color to “go back” to where they came from; describing African nations and Haiti as “hole countries”—makes obfuscation a lot harder, a fact that many Republicans now fear could impact their electoral prospects. www-vanityfair-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/07/republicans-wish-trump-would-be-a-little-less-openly-racist/amp?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASDYAQE%3D#aoh=15951922525594&csi=1&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vanityfair.com%2Fnews%2F2020%2F07%2Frepublicans-wish-trump-would-be-a-little-less-openly-racistSince the early 1960s, black Republicans and black conservatives have seen the whitening of the Republican Party and the increasing racial extremism of the conservative movement. They protested outside the 1964 Republican National Convention and lobbied Republican leaders; eventually, many decided to stop voting for the GOP altogether, stating unequivocally that they were doing so because they felt they were no longer welcome in the Grand Old Party. www-vox-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2018/10/12/17955400/max-boot-trump-conservatism-gop-goldwater?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASDYAQE%3D#aoh=15951956759946&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vox.com%2F2018%2F10%2F12%2F17955400%2Fmax-boot-trump-conservatism-gop-goldwater

The racist sociopath better stick to OANN after Chris Wallace's interview with him aired today. The sociopath is divorced from reality and unhinged. Only the true cultists can stick with this malignant narcissist. Making one of his biggest media appearances in months — an hour-long, sit-down interview with “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace — Trump was visibly rattled and at times hostile as he struggled to answer for his administration’s failure to contain the coronavirus, which has claimed more than 137,000 lives in the United States. On a range of other topics, including the racial justice movement and the Confederate flag, the president positioned himself firmly outside the political mainstream. And Trump suggested he might not accept the results of November’s general election should he lose because he predicted without evidence that “mail-in voting is going to rig the election.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-defends-bungled-handling-of-coronavirus-with-falsehoods-and-dubious-claims/2020/07/19/1b57cb3e-c9e6-11ea-91f1-28aca4d833a0_story.html

I don’t think this is going to turn out to be the jump starter the Trump campaign was hoping for...

I don’t think this is going to turn out to be the jump starter the Trump campaign was hoping for... The thing I find amazing and increasingly hilarious is that people in the Trump camp, the true blue supporters, seem to think that getting him in front of the camera and especially getting him on stage at a debate will win the day for him. How could anyone watch that interview and think that this is the guy for the job?

Only the true cultists can stick with this malignant narcissist. That'll be Chris Wallace's last interview. He's firmly in Shepard Smith territory as far as the Fox denizens think. Going forward, the President will stick to hard-hitting questions from Judge Jeannine, Lou Dobbs, and Tucker Carlson, assuming he comes back from vacation. (Bill O'Reilly is presumably still on that vacation.)

You are a racist because you support trump and his agenda. That's an overreach. I'm not going to lay blame to 40 percent of the nation with that broad a brush, any more than someone that would tell you that anyone who does not support the President is an anarchist.

There is no picking and choosing with this guy. If you support him, you support it all.

You are a racist because you support trump and his agenda. That's an overreach. I'm not going to lay blame to 40 percent of the nation with that broad a brush, any more than someone that would tell you that anyone who does not support the President is an anarchist. I agree it is an overreach to call any particular individual a racist based upon support of the Republican Party. However, the Republican Party as a party is racist since it is now Trump's party as admitted by some former Republicans. If you support the Republican Party you are, at minimum, complicit in its racism. Thus, I do not believe it is unfair to state that 40% who support the Republican Party are complicit in their party's racism. Can you identify which Democratic policies you believe support anarchism? Your analogy fails in the way you worded it ("anyone who does not support the President") is not the equivalent of the Democratic Party membership or its leaders. OTOH, I would posit that anarchists, by definition, neither support the Democratic Party, its leaders nor Joe Biden for that matter either. (Ironically, anarchism might have more in common with Republican's erstwhile belief in limited government as opposed to the Democrats big government philosophy). Not all Republicans are racist but all racists are drawn to the Republican Party. There's a reason for that. David Duke, the former KKK grand wizard, is unambiguous about what Saturday’s alt-right and neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, means to him: It’s the fulfillment of President Donald Trump’s vision for America. www-vox-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2017/8/12/16138358/charlottesville-protests-david-duke-kkk?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASDYAQE%3D#aoh=15952389695993&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vox.com%2F2017%2F8%2F12%2F16138358%2Fcharlottesville-protests-david-duke-kkkIn at least five state and national races across the country, the Republican Party is dealing with an uncomfortable problem. Their party’s candidates are either a card-carrying Nazi, a Holocaust denier, a proud white supremacist, or all of the above. www-vox-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2018/7/9/17525860/nazis-russell-walker-arthur-jones-republicans-illinois-north-carolina-virginia?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQIKAGwASDYAQE%3D#aoh=15952396561244&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vox.com%2F2018%2F7%2F9%2F17525860%2Fnazis-russell-walker-arthur-jones-republicans-illinois-north-carolina-virginia

Yeah, he definitely got it from watching Kurtz on Hannity, but typical Trump, he has no filter so he gets straight to the point: "Bringing who knows into your suburbs, so your communities will be unsafe" The context here is the AFFH was a provision of the Fair Housing act of 1968 and was a response to openly racist policies like "redlining". So when he says the first part and then adds - "and your housing values will go down.” Something that redlining did to minority (mostly black) communities it's not hard to figure out what he's referring to imo.

Add Brett Baier, along with Chris Wallace. Wallace is the best interrogator around and he did an excellent job with the Trump interview. Does anyone think Biden will ever submit to similar questioning?

If Trump wins reelection it will be due to large numbers of people who despise Trump but are vehemently opposed to what a Democratic administration would do to this country: killings of babies on demand, near open borders, Medicare for all and its inevitable driving doctors out of business, choking environmental and other regulations, stuffing the Supreme Court, antaganism to religion, etc. You may disagree with what I attribute to a Democratic presidency but that doesn't matter if that's what large numbers of voters believe.

So, the rampant and cruel racism is not a deal breaker for you. Frankly, I think the racism is the headline feature that you will vote for and all this other nonsense is just a throw in or cover for your real motivations.
