Only President Trump could take a positive, heartwarming story and turn it into an ugly lie that divides and damages America

Federal prosecutors in New York have overseen numerous prosecutions and investigations with ties to Trump in recent years. That includes an ongoing investigation into Giuliani’s business dealings, including whether he failed to register as a foreign agent, according to people familiar with the probe. The people were not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The office has also prosecuted a number of Trump associates, including Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, who served a prison sentence for lying to Congress and campaign finance crimes.
Berman has also overseen the prosecution of two Florida businessmen, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who were associates of Giuliani and tied to the Ukraine impeachment investigation. The men were charged in October with federal campaign finance violations, including hiding the origin of a $325,000 donation to a group supporting Trump’s reelection.
Attention refocused on the Southern District this week after news organizations, including The Associated Press, obtained copies of Bolton’s tell-all book. Bolton alleges in the book that Trump sought to cut a deal to stop federal prosecutors in New York from investigating whether Halkbank violated U.S. sanctions against Iran in order to free an American pastor imprisoned in Turkey.
Six weeks after the pastor’s release, Bolton writes that on a call with the Turkish president,“Trump then told Erdoğan he would take care of things, explaining that the Southern District prosecutors were not his people, but were Obama people, a problem that would be fixed when they were replaced by his people.”

On one side you have black folks getting killed for allegedly using a fake 20.
On the other you have Trump and Barr firing anyone who dares investigate any of their friends or allies. Dropping charges on people they like who have admitted to crimes, and opening up sham investigations on their perceived enemies.
Regarding the second part, It would only take 3-4 Republican senators to stop this madness but they're afraid of getting mean tweets apparently.

We now have a president who thinks that the Constitution allows him, as he has asserted, to do whatever he wants, and an attorney general who has aided and abetted him in repeated affronts to the rule of law. In the wake of the convictions of presidential cronies Roger Stone and Michael Flynn, the attorney general has intervened to undo and undermine the work of experienced career lawyers, leading those lawyers to withdraw from the cases or even resign. Barr also ousted U.S. attorney Jessie Liu, who oversaw the prosecutions, and replaced her with a member of his own staff, who then displaced the lead prosecutors in the office. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/06/20/crisis-justice-impartial-rule-law-is-line/

Let's see if Berman fights it. Answer: No. In a statement Saturday evening, Berman said that because Barr had respected “the normal operation of law” by appointing his deputy to lead the office, he would step aside.

The Trump campaign told reporters that it had canceled plans for the president to speak to an overflow crowd outside the arena, but didn’t say why, stating only that, “outside programming is over.” The campaign had planned hours of entertainment for people who couldn’t get inside, calling it the “Great American Comeback Celebration.” Trump was scheduled to deliver brief remarks there around 7 p.m. ET before heading to the arena. But with less than two hours before Trump was expected, the outdoor celebration was sparsely attended. It seems Trump will instead go directly to the arena for his rally, where he’s slated to begin speaking at 8 p.m. -- The Washington Post (6:31 pm).

It’s going to be hilarious to see how he and Fox News spin this. Usually I don’t find the Trump “spin” hilarious because there are usually such high stakes. There are no stakes to this (except that a few Trump lovin’ dummies get COVID) besides the utter humiliation of Donald Trump. Those streets are emptier than a Trump supporter’s skull.

The Trump cultists snowflakes are scared!
The campaign blamed protesters, though there was little evidence the president’s fans were deterred by backlash to his visit.
“Sadly, protestors interfered with supporters, even blocking access to the metal detectors, which prevented people from entering the rally,” said Tim Murtaugh, a campaign spokesman. “Radical protestors, coupled with a relentless onslaught from the media, attempted to frighten off the president’s supporters. We are proud of the thousands who stuck it out.” -- The Washington Post at 7:01 pm

What a moronic loser. Decompensating before our eyes and his cultists lap it up. The thousands of empty arena chairs, after his campaign had hyped overflow crowds and ticket requests totaling more than 1 million, symbolized the beleaguered state of Trump’s presidency and of his quest to win a second term. His 101-minute address was rambling and discordant, ranging from some of his favorite hits, such as attacks on CNN and the “fake news” to dark imagery about “Joe Biden’s America” as overrun by rioters and looters to a lengthy monologue explaining his slow and unsteady walk down a ramp and two-handed sip of water last weekend at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Relative to the campaign’s expectations, this was a humiliation. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/at-a-time-of-national-crisis-and-division-trump-chooses-to-prepare-for-a-fight/2020/06/20/5ebf3306-b296-11ea-856d-5054296735e5_story.html
