Even Kim Jong Un is embarrassed by these “elections.”

Back to the regularly-scheduled Trump bashing. General Mattis, breaking his own Sounds of Silence -- too little, too late? James Mattis, the esteemed Marine general who resigned as secretary of defense in December 2018 to protest Donald Trump’s Syria policy, has, ever since, kept studiously silent about Trump’s performance as president. But he has now broken his silence, writing an extraordinary broadside in which he denounces the president for dividing the nation, and accuses him of ordering the U.S. military to violate the constitutional rights of American citizens. Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children. www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2020/06/james-mattis-denounces-trump-protests-militarization/612640/?fbclid=IwAR33MkIXT6amxgMBxxuYz6A3AXmFDxFm9gAF83VYLsEqwp-p7rzqmQ-zqJ0

Maybe General Mattis is just a partisan hack?

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski said on Thursday she is struggling over whether she can support President Donald Trump's re-election bid, saying criticism of Trump's response to nationwide protests by former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis rang true. Asked if she supported Trump, who faces the nation's voters again in November, she said, "I am struggling with it. I have struggled with it for a long time." [Will she pull a Collins? Faux handwringing but ultimately toeing the corrupt GOP line?] www.nytimes.com/reuters/2020/06/04/us/politics/04reuters-minneapolis-police-protests-murkowski.html?searchResultPosition=5

Sadly, it doesn't necessarily mean that she'll do the right thing. See Kayleigh McEnany, Mick Mulvaney, Kirstjen Neilsen. 😒

For you Trump cultists from my Evangelical pastor friend from high school 50 years ago:
People of deep influence are people of truth. They seek truth in their lives, in their relationship with God, in their relationships with others and in their work. The pursuit of truth is a Godly pursuit. Remember that the evil one is the father of lies. As citizens living in a fallen world we are prone to believe those lies. As citizens of heaven we are committed to pursuing truth.

See Kayleigh McEnany, Mick Mulvaney, Kirstjen Neilsen. 😒 And I view this as nothing more than a lot of blah, blah, blah until proven otherwise. With only a couple of exceptions (or maybe it's just one), the Republican Senators will be the subject of a Profiles in Cowardice tome that will consist of volumes.

Chris Murphy:
He’s asked twice, by a cupcake interviewer, what we should do about policing reform. And he can’t get within 1000 miles of an answer. He literally doesn’t understand the question.
The mental acuity candidate...

It’s gonna be hard for POTUS to say that NFL owners are scared of him now... Excellent point by the Colts GM also... www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29272996/nfl-players-spoke-roger-goodell-responded-now-here-knowWhy does this matter? Because the streets of American cities have, for the past 11 nights, been lined with protesters speaking out in the wake of the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. Because the past week in the NFL has seen virtual team meetings ignore football and focus on considerably broader world issues. Because the faces and voices speaking out about the issues that were at the center of Kaepernick's protests look and sound different than the ones who backed him at the time.
"This is not a black problem," Colts GM Chris Ballard said this week. "This is a white problem. This is an issue that we have to talk about, and we can't surgarcoat it. We can't go back into our bubble."

Until three brief months ago, President Trump never faced a serious crisis, at least one not of his own making. But now he has faced two, and is failing two, in short order: the covid-19 pandemic, with its concomitant economic devastation; and now social unrest, and rioting, stemming from the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. Lacking in humanity, Trump has had no idea how to handle either one. He has responded to the police-brutality protests only by making matters worse. Faced with circumstances warranting calls for calm and restraint, he answered with almost sadistic invitations for more violence, fulminating about “THUGS” and extrajudicially “shooting” looters, issuing threats about “vicious dogs” and “ominous weapons,” and celebrating “Domination” and “Overwhelming force.” www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/06/05/presidents-inhumanity-is-deeper-than-we-knew/

What kind of President starts celebrating when unemployment is in the double digits anyways? The same type who probably knew it was a lie but was willing to mislead the public for personal gain.

Trump will lose in November.
I pray Biden chooses wisely because he is in no condition to lead long term, or even short term.

I eagerly await the sociopath's tweet that Colin Powell was an incompetent General and Secretary of State.
