Shannon will announce Monday. Id be shocked if it wasnt Texas Tech. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but the recent chatter on this board sounds like Texas Tech is in a good spot for him right now. Maybe if he does end up at another school it simply clarifies the Hoyas position for another player and they can close the deal on the JUCO kid, Alexander, or another small forward they are pursuing. Have to believe there will be quite a bit of activity in the next few weeks as the uncommitted '19 players start announcing.

So if this kid goes to Tech, & Baugh goes to Memphis, you would assume we would really want to put the full court press on Gardner & Alexander. If we get two of these four and maintain our underclassmen, the sky is the limit for this squad.

If we get two of these four and maintain our underclassmen, the sky is the limit for this squad. Based on Myron's comments, Georgetown's chances look to be about 1 in 4. So, we are in the running, but it's gonna be a dogfight for this kid with Cincinnati, Xavier, and others. Ewing chose to attend RJ Davis' game. Don't know what that means with respect to Myron. Also, does SPIRE Academy have a good success rate of getting kids qualified and playing right away in college? Reason I ask is that it is a relatively new school with heavy athletics emphasis. The school is not allowed in any Ohio high school athletics conference because a player on the team (Melo Ball) actually played some professional ball. Again, nothing to do with Myron, but I hope the school can check all the academic boxes for its student athletes.

Yeah, Chris Beard was an assistant under Bob Knight. Say what you will about Knight, but he always seemed to do things by the NCAA rulebook, as far as I remember.

Plus his success at Texas Tech has been built on player evaluation & development Neither Culver or Zhaire Smith were well known recruits...

It's a bummer not to get him, but with 2 NBA first rounders in the last 2 years, playing the same position, makes all the sense in the world to choose Texas Tech.

speaking of Beard, if IU gets tired of Archie Miller watch out. This guy will be number one on the list. IU fans are already tired of Archie.

I know it sounds like Texas Tech is going to be the choice but I had not seen an announcement from him yet Beard is unquestionably the top target on every program's list in the country. He is an elite coach at this point. Good fit for Shannon, would have been great for the Hoyas, but hard to argue with the choice. Makes us push for Gardner even harder now.
