Do informed folks think he’s further along than sodom? Brandon bolden? It would be nice for one of these TUP big men to pan out. Didn't know very much about Sodom before his decommitment from New Mexico and subsequent recruitment and commitment to Georgetown. In terms of Bolden, I coached against him on the circuit. While Bolden had strong potential and the physical tools to be an elite prospect, his reputation was (depending on who you talk to) one of several opinions including hard to motivate, needs to learn to play hard all the time, lacks a consistent motor, to outright lazy. I remember his commitment to Georgetown being a shock to a lot of the summer circuit coaches I knew including myself. The hope was that Bolden just needed to mature and tap into his physical gifts. Wilson has only been playing basketball for 4+ years doesn't appear to be lazy or lack a motor. In fact Wilson's motor, mobility, length and athleticism are his only basketball strengths that he's been able to develop so far. He also seems to have excellent timing and at least decent hands. Obviously needs to add strength and weight (at least 25-30 pounds) before He steps on the floor. He really is just scratching the surface of his abilities. Another reason to look at this signing as an investment to the future is the over all lack of high level Centers in the 2020 class. Last year at this time, we knew the 2019 class was stacked with high level Bigs from Carey, Wiseman, Stewart, Igiehon, Cockburn, etc. Not so much for the 2020 class. If Wilson reclassified to 2020 and went to prep school, he would be highly sought after prospect in the 2020 class. Side Note: I Don't think Coach Ewing could stomach uninspired or lazy players.

I'm very happy about this commitment, but I wonder - are we getting too stacked with big men? Ighoefe, Wilson, a possible Akok Akok commit, even Will Baker - what do we do if we're in a situation where we have a class of 4 centers plus Yurtseven? What do we do? If that happens, maybe we make the Sweet 16? All kidding aside, I don't think we are too stacked at the moment. Right now, we essentially have zero depth at center, and the guys that would most likely be playing the 4/PF are more swing types than PFs. While that's definitely the trend, you definitely need some bigger guys, both for rebounding and defense. For 2019, one would expect Yurtseven to likely play significant minutes at center. If we were lucky enough to land Baker, he's likely playing a ton of minutes too, and some chance he's a one and done. Also, it's extremely unlikely we would get Akok Akok AND Baker, so I think you need to go strong for both and let the chips fall. Of course, this assumes that Yurtseven is still here in 2019, which I think is likely, but you just never know with older guys with dreams of getting drafted. And Ighoefe and Wilson don't seem like instant impact guys, so aside from taking up scholarships, I don't think they really get in the way of guys like Baker or Akok. It does seem a little bit strange to tie up two scholarships with project types, it essentially means we cannot bring on any other projects, but obviously Patrick and the staff see something in both, and I hope they work out well, develop, and make meaningful contributions.

Malcolm Wilson will become a great big man for Gtown. Just a matter of time. I think the kid was an absolute steal. In a year, he'll surpass Carey, Wiseman, Akok and Wahab, and Gtown fans will be thanking their lucky stars. I also predict that Gtown will be getting Cole Anthony.

Smart kid! His expectation is to “win”. Love that!

So far he has been the most expressive of the recruits. I want to see him develop. He has a long frame and a great attitude. This class and this team should be very exciting.

I still get a bit choked up when I see these guys (or any kids) in their last photos from HS getting ready to head off to college. Sounds like he'll be on campus this week. Best of luck to one of our newest Hoyas!

Let’s not sleep on this kid. While Timothy clearly has the body and Wahab may be more skilled at this point...Wilson looks to be the best athlete of all three. He’s going to get his share of run this year.

He could be the best athlete on the team. A near 7-foot Leblanc. Considering the stud athletes the team has, him being at or near the top really says something.

He’s going to get his share of run this year. If the coaches are mindful to put him in positions in which he can succeed, I think he absolutely makes a positive contribution this year after watching him in the Bahamas. No, he doesn’t have the frame to bang bodies down low, but his length and athleticism are an absolutely mis-match for most players. I want to see him more at the 4 as a sub to Josh.

The great thing about Wilson is that there's no pressure on him and the team doesn't desperately need him at this point. Its doubtful he could start effectively for this team this season and his body is probably two years of strengthening before he could even handle 20 plus minutes at the five position. But could he be highly effective in limited spots this season? I think so.
