For those who don't check the recruiting board obsessively - 6' 11" center from SC tweeted at 6 am that he has committed to the Hoyas, in advance of his rescheduled official visit this coming weekend. Welcome to the Hilltop Malcolm - now get to work!

Nice news and welcome to Malcolm. He's a 3 star on the cusp of being a 4, according to 24/7. The consensus seems to be that he has a great deal of potential especially after putting on some weight. He also offers the Hoyas a lot of flexibility because he is open to redshirting if need be: I imagine the staff will keep recruiting others and make the redshirt decision down the road depending on who else signs.

When is the last time Georgetown had a non-injury related redshirted player? I can think of a few that should have been redshirted, but can't recall any.

Interesting commitment especially after the earlier commitment of the another "project" big guy earlier. I have to assume one of them will redshirt next year. I do like the athleticism and potential of Wilson and think he could develop into a really strong player with the right coaching. Welcome to the Hilltop!!

Does it still count as 2019 Scholarship if he redshirts? I would assume it does

What is the advantage to the school for anyone to redshirt today? Almost everyone with who is eligible in his fifth year transfers for that final year. And redshirts do count against the 13 schollie limit even though the are not playing.

Congratulations and welcome to Big Man U, where you will fit right in. Work on the body, work on the feet, work on the stroke. You have chosen well.

Welcome, Malcolm!
I know some people aren't going to be overly excited because he's not a five star, but the potential is absolutely there. Give him to Patrick and watch something special happen.

One thing I like from his video is that when he blocks a shot he doesn't swat it out of bounds. He keeps it in play allowing for an opportunity for a fast break on the other end. NOBODY does this these days. Zo and Deke did it all of the time.

Do informed folks think he’s further along than sodom? Brandon bolden? It would be nice for one of these TUP big men to pan out.

This highlight reel is the best highlights I have seen for Wilson. More active and engaged than some of the other highlights I have seen. Certainly shows the potential the staff must see in him.

Much rather have a kid like Wilson than a hothead like Sodom. Wilson is a smart, hardworking humble kid. He is going to work and he is going to get better. Yes he's raw but you can see he is athletic and has good feet.

I'm very happy about this commitment, but I wonder - are we getting too stacked with big men? Ighoefe, Wilson, a possible Akok Akok commit, even Will Baker - what do we do if we're in a situation where we have a class of 4 centers plus Yurtseven?
