I like this kid a lot! He has a lot of hustle in him. Still a little bit raw, but the talent is clearly there.

With three springy, athletic, tall, defensive-minded bigs (all at or near 7 feet) to practice against, Yurtseven may have an easier time in some games when the Hoyas face good opposing teams. He should be made better by those upcoming practice battles. All four of them should be made better actually.

It's the other end of the court I'm most interested in, we know the team can score but can they consistently stop teams? Can Y7, Qudus, Wilson & TI cover in space or show & recover well, handle the PnR game Ect...?

Yeah, I concur with, dc.
Professor, your intentions are likely good and harmless but people may take it the wrong way.

Yeah I laughed. So I get it. But I cringed because I also get it.

Ighoefe I share the concerns above, but this establishes a different context for the post.

I walked by Timothy and Qudus this morning. I felt very, very short.

No, at 6’2”, I’ve rarely felt that short.
Tough to tell who’s taller. Timothy’s hair adds an inch or two, and Q was wearing a hat.
Timothy is definitely more built, though. We’ll see how his skill level plays out at the Big East level, but doesn’t look like anyone will push him around on the block.

What do we now know about Tim? He is a recruit that had a very interesting path to us. I was thinking that he was probably in the best condition on the team, believing that he has been playing a lot of competitive games. I'm just curious!

I feel he is actually being underrated right now. Guy has legit center size, a ridiculous wingspan, an NBA body, good hands and from a small sample size what looks to be a soft touch. He can get up and down the court too and looks pretty athletic. It should be fascinating how he looks on the court in a few months after getting a chance t practice with his teammates.

Bear with me on this comp: I believe Timothy this season will have some effective moments somewhat similar to Moses Ayegba’s best minutes. Some strong rebounding, a block or two and running the floor with purpose. Going forward I be,ieve Timothy will become a force. How much of a force remains to be seen. As mentioned before the practices w similar sized teammates w certainly help

Moses was 6’9 on a good day and could barely jump from the floor. Wasn’t as athletic as Ighoefe appears to be. I just don’t know about that comparison. Certainly didn’t have as impressive a wingspan.

The comp was not so much the player but the minutes...
