Republicans have identified a list of pressing areas where more congressional oversight are needed and instead of doing the oversight have turned it into a spooky story about why they need to win in November to avoid doing the oversight.
Republicans compile list of oversight obligations they have abdicated for nearly two years that highlights various ways the Trump administration has been acting unethically, and unlawfully..

Somewhere, somehow, Trump is figuring out how to corruptly make money by scuttling the FBI's HQ move out of downtown Washington. Follow the $$$$$$$$$$$. Officials from the General Services Administration may have misled Congress about the White House’s role in canceling a decade-long search for a new FBI headquarters campus in the Washington suburbs last year, according to a government watchdog report released Monday. GSA officials also misrepresented the costs of their replacement plan — to build a new downtown headquarters — making it seem as though it would cost less than the original plan when it would actually cost more, the report from the agency’s inspector general found. www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/08/27/white-house-role-fbi-headquarters-plan-detailed-watchdog-report/?utm_term=.1345a9e58459

"Trump was in previously undisclosed meetings about the relocation of the FBI HQ. And despite telling Congress the plan changed to save money, the numbers don't add up."
Narrator: It was to save money, just not for the American taxpayer. Trump saved money....
The President decided to cancel a new FBI HQ simply because it’d impact the ability of his private business to make more money.

“If politics is only about power unbounded by morality — if it’s simply about rulers governing by the law of the jungle, about a prince acting like a beast, in the words of Machiavelli — then the whole enterprise will collapse.”

Maybe I'm just cynical at this point but, for some reason, I just don't believe him.

President Trump claimed his tax cuts would raise wages by more than $4,000. Instead, they’ve actually fallen for most Americans. The richest corporations are seeing record profits while workers’ paychecks get smaller. www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-08-28/trump-s-promises-to-forgotten-man-undercut-by-wage-stagnationAmericans Are Making Less Money Despite Trump’s Promises Once the impact of inflation is included, ordinary Americans’ hourly earnings are lower than they were a year ago. Real wages have remained mostly stagnant despite an expanding economy, record stock prices, soaring corporate profits and a giant deficit-fueled stimulus from Trump’s tax cuts that took effect Jan. 1. The Trump administration claimed its policies would immediately boost wages, with its tax overhaul ultimately increasing average pay by $4,000 to $9,000. That hasn’t happened. And though Trump regularly boasts of the economy’s performance, many Americans don’t feel they’re sharing in the gains -- a risk for Republicans as they seek to defend their House and Senate majorities in November elections. A majority of voters believes their personal financial situation has remained the same or gotten worse over the past two years, said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University poll. “When you look at that backbone of the country -- the middle class -- people think that there’s stagnancy and not much has happened for them,” although “things might be marginally better nationwide,” he said. “That could be a problem in the midterms for a lot of people. At least some people believe that promises were not fulfilled.”

Trump cancels pay raises for most federal employees set to take effect in January, citing budget.... We do have 8 billion for something called Space Force though... 1/3rd are Veterans... Corporations have spent 101x MORE on stock buybacks than worker bonuses/wage hikes since the GOP Tax Bill. CEO pay is up 20%, workers pay down if you adjust for inflation. The gap between CEO and worker pay is nearing pre-financial crisis levels for.tn/2C4vUaT. Trump's answer is to give more tax breaks for the wealthy.... Amazing how there's no budget concerns when it comes to giving extra money to the wealthy in this country... Cap gains indexing is even more skewed to the wealthy than the Trump-GOP tax law. The proposal would cost up to $102 billion, with a stunning 63% of the tax benefit going to the top 0.1%, 86% going to the top 1%, and 95% going to the top 5%. budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2018/3/23/indexing-capital-gains-to-inflation … 5/ Middle class worker asks for 50c raise- You trying to break our back? We're drowning in debt! Republican Donor wants a 1.5 trillion deficit busting tax cut- Who do I make the check out to?!

The President has to make money somehow... Trump raised $107 million for his inauguration (more than Obama’s two inaugurations combined) and much of it is still unaccounted for. Six guilty pleas and one conviction... www.citizensforethics.org/crew-gets-trump-family-business-secret-service-spending-documents/Taxpayers spent nearly $250,000 on hotels, airfare and other costs for Secret Service protection for Eric and Donald Trump Jr., in one month for two overseas trips by Eric and Donald Trump Jr. in which they visited Trump family businesses, according to documents obtained by CREW. The Secret Service documents, received through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, shed light on how much taxpayers are paying for trips taken by the heads of the president’s private business empire. In February 2017, Eric and Don Jr. flew to Dubai to open a Trump-branded golf club. On the Dubai trip, the Secret Service paid more than $200,000, including about $125,000 for airfare, $75,000 for hotel rooms and more than $15,000 for “other” expenses including cell phones, car service and other transportation. The business trip cost taxpayers significantly more than the $73,000 in Secret Service cost for a 2018 trip to Dubai for the Trump sons to attend the wedding of the daughter of a business partner. That same month, Eric Trump traveled to the Dominican Republic to potentially relaunch a failed Trump-branded resort project. When compared to the bill taxpayers were stuck with from Dubai, the Dominican Republic trip was a bargain at just more than $20,000* for airfare, hotel rooms, auto rental and additional expenses. CREW also received documents for the Trump brothers’ trips to Vancouver and Uruguay in April 2017. While some of the costs of these trips have already been made public, including $15,000 spent at a Trump-branded property, the documents—which give a fuller picture of costs—have not.
