You are exactly right. And they all died secondary to the addiction to the crack pipe of re-election and power. Doing right finishes a distant second or third to stay in office by any means necessary. Republicans and Democrats alike

Not the same... Republicans, who claim to be deficit hawks, are exploding the deficit in a bull market. It's totally irresponsible and will make it harder to respond to the next financial crisis. And they’ll rise like deficit phoenixes next time a Democrat sits in the White House and/or wants to pass a law.

Con-servative....
Gina Loudon serves on President Trump’s media advisory board (whatever that is) and is a member at Mar-a-Lago
Fox News favorite "Dr. Gina" Loudon claims to be psychologist with scientific evidence that Donald Trump might be the “most sound-minded” president ever.
One small problem: she doesn't have psychology degree or license.
Oops....

Deficits hawks will reemerge more powerful than ever the second Democrats regain control of Congress. GOP will assert that deficit reduction is the Number 1 issue after exploding the deficit to give a trillion dollars worth of tax cuts for their donor class...

I wonder what Howard Baker would say about this.

“F--- THE MUSLIM N-----," according to Politico. He called Obama a "F------ MUSLIM N------" and he's a DeSantis donor who earlier got the candidate to speak at a Mar-a-Lago event. *SHOCKER politi.co/2QKDydO

Stunning. Even with all we've seen over the past couple of years, I can't formulate a comment on this one.

Stunning. Even with all we've seen over the past couple of years, I can't formulate a comment on this one. I can. The amount of tone-deafness in the GOP is, at times, astonishing. Perhaps you are giving the GOP too much credit by ascribing this to mere tone-deafness. It's wholly consistent with the numerous dog whistles to the white ethno-nationalist base of the GOP while allowing the candidate some degree of plausible deniability. As I posted earlier, not all Republicans are racists but all racists seem to be drawn to the Republican Party. There's a reason for that. Florida GOP gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis has a problem, one he shares with a lot of Republicans these days: For some reason, racists are attracted to his campaign and seem eager to give him money and lend their vocal support. Why does this keep happening to members of the Republican Party who desire nothing but equality and respect for all people? It’s a real mystery. But you know who doesn’t have to worry about getting endorsed by neo-Nazis, white nationalists and racists? People who don’t give neo-Nazis, white nationals and racists any reason to believe that they share their views. www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2018/09/20/why-do-all-these-racists-keep-joining-the-gop/?utm_term=.8540a19beb1d

This may be the best political ad I have ever seen. I was thinking to myself, well, none of this matters because he probably supports the NRA, but I about fell off my chair when the punchline hit.

High potential for perjury here - or is senility a defense? A federal court ruled that a Cabinet secretary must provide, for the first time in 19 years, a deposition in a civil case. “Applying well-established principles to the unusual facts of these cases, the court concludes that the question is not a close one,” Furman wrote. “Secretary Ross must sit for a deposition because, among other things, his intent and credibility are directly at issue in these cases.” Ross testified before House Ways and Means Committee in March that DOJ initiated the request to include a citizenship question, but a May 2017 email challenges that assertion. "I am mystified why nothing [has] been done in response to my months old request that we include the citizenship question," he wrote. "Why not?" www.politico.com/story/2018/09/21/wiilbur-ross-census-deposition-801266
