Watching some of the Lovett's game video, Christian Anderson (#2) is a baller. He's a freshman and listed at 5'7", 115lbs but he's very crafty and can really shoot it, (perfect form) if he grows a few more inches I anticipate a lot of interest, 3rd team as a freshman is pretty good. Hopefully the coaching staff has reached out to the young man.

I understand the competition difference but I’m glad that we can add a center that can shoot from further out so even if he plays 10 minutes, he will shake up the offensive scheme with his skill

Ryan's big game from last night is worth watching, if you have the time. I've watched 4 or 5 of his games this season. He looks significantly smoother and more aggressive in this one. He makes very quick decisions. When he gets the ball anywhere near the basket - he either makes an immediate move to the hoop, or an immediate pass out to an open shooter. His passing is very impressive - he'll be the best passing big man we have had in the Ewing era. The reality check - the level of competition he plays against is not good. It is hard to know if the quick post moves he uses will work against Big East defenders - it may be that using his current post moves, he'll get most of his shots thrown back at him by BE centers. But he makes his moves so quickly, and uses his body well to shield the ball. plus he has very good touch on his post shots. Ryan also does not have much explosiveness to his game. But the height/length/skill/quick decision making combination is definitely intriguing. And the amount of improvement he has shown throughout his high school career (even within the current season) is impressive Here's a link to the game: lovettnetwork.org/?page_id=47

Also - note the tall fan standing and gesticulating in an animated manner throughout the game - I think you'll recognize him!

At least he's winning his games against mediocre competition...

Ryan will have at least 3mths of going against three really good shot blockers before he faces other schools. He'll either make adjustments or he won't get much playing time.

Also - note the tall fan standing and gesticulating in an animated manner throughout the game - I think you'll recognize him! I had flashbacks to Ewing on the sideline watching Deke making the same gestures over and over. "MOVE" "REBOUND" "DUNK THAT " Ryan reminds me a lot of Roy in terms of work ethic and progression in high school. He's got a long ways to go in terms of explosiveness and athleticism as mentioned above, but the difference in his game from last year to this year (even against mediocre comp) is HUGE. He was tall last year. He's a ball player this year. Really looking forward to see where his ceiling is.

Will you guys please stop with the whole "explosiveness" thing. Mutombo is incredibly polished and he's so subtle that he fools you with "finesse". His father taught this kid really well. Ryan is going to dominate the BE. Say what you want, but this kid has great hands, great feel for the game, great positioning, great touch and I could go on and on. He's definitely a 5 star kid. 4 star doesn't do him justice. He's a thoroughbred and GT is LUCKY to have him.
