I could be wrong, but I think the first season that we went to the Gray home jerseys was the 1982-1983 season; we wore the white, light blue and black uniforms in the prior season, Patrick Ewing's freshman year, when we lost to North Carolina in the NCAA finals.

Also, the injury to Tom Skates was a big deal. While we were able to beat Syracuse without him to advance to the NCAA, we really missed him against star Rutgers center James Bailey in the NCAA game. Painfully, the East Regional Final Four was Rutgers, Penn (who we had beaten at their place), St John's (who we had beaten at their place) and Syracuse (who we had beaten at a neutral site.)
