Welcome to DC Mr. Wilson. Good addition to the GU family, keep up the good work Coach Ewing and staff.

Refresher....
What I took away from this interview is that Coach Ewing has been extremely honest with Wilson. Also, Wilson has a very strong understanding of his own game and what he needs to do to before he can contribute at the high major college level.
I expect he will be redshirted but that decision doesn't have to be made by the staff for over a year from now at earliest. Down the road Wilson can become a big time contributor...

My guess is that our top signings for 2019 come late and unexpectedly.

My guess is that our top signings for 2019 come late and unexpectedly. Based on history you are really going out on a limb lol. It's not the safest strategy but if it keeps working it's a good thing.

My guess is that our top signings for 2019 come late and unexpectedly. That may be the case. I do think that a recruit like Wilson, who clearly really likes Georgetown felt that he needed to commit early or his offer and/or playing time may disappear when/if another big man committed. This seems to be a change from recent years where recruits seemed comfortable making the Hoyas wait while they considered other programs because there was not sense that Georgetown was going to land anyone else who might bump them. I would think that a few early commitments would help the staff in planning for the rest of the class I think the aggressive recruiting of the staff is going to make some of the recruits make an earlier decision. The real 5 star kids are always going to wait until they want to make a decision, because they typically don't care about competition from other recruits. They just feel like they are going to play no matter where they go or when they decide.

Wilson will take a few years to season.

My guess is that our top signings for 2019 come late and unexpectedly. Based on history you are really going out on a limb lol. It's not the safest strategy but if it keeps working it's a good thing. The one X factor is our performance this season. If we turn out to beat expectations, make the tournament, and make a splash, that would certainly be a major factor that could improve our recruiting. You basically have two types of recruits at that point: (a) the top 100 types who decommit because of changes in coaching, or for other reasons, or (b) the guys who just wait until the spring/late bloomers. Ewing has done pretty well with (a), but obviously that's not a pipeline you can rely on.

He just became the most athletic big man associated with the program.
Give Pat two years with him and he is a star.

Love this kid's potential - he's certainly got legit height/length. Hopefully he got in a lift and met with strength/conditioning/nutrition coaches while at the Thompson Center.
