I have been more critical of Mosely than most, but he came play last night and earned more minutes than either Mac or James. Jagan was one of the guys who played well last night. I never thought I would say it, but Akinjo and Mac both seemed a little overwhelmed at times last night by the intensity of the game. Both of these freshman seemed like they enjoyed the big moment so far this season, but looked uncomfortable at points last night. Hope it is a learning experience and they both come out better for having gone through it. This!

Let's give it up for James who, after 13 conference games, is LEADING the Big East in assists! Great work by Akinjo, I noticed the assists per game is for the whole 26 game season which makes it even more impressive given it includes some of his first college games played. The A/T ratio is for the BE season only, but again, very impressive for a freshman with a good sized lead as well. His assists per game is up to 6 in BE play.
Can't say enough about the 3 freshman, they have sparked life into this team and can carry us higher for the next 4 years.

The ball control is what makes us a team that can beat anybody when good. The shooting, when going well, is a plus...

Akinjo went straight to Wallace after the game for a big hug, and they walked off the court with their arms around each others' shoulders. It seems likely that Wallace is doing a lot of the detailed point guard training work with Akinjo and it was nice to see a little glimpse at the relationship they have develop.

Yeah I saw one shot during the game of Wallace pointing and yelling something to James.
But wait, our assistants don't do anything during the games, do they??

Love that. He's been fantastic since the benching. I don't care if he misses open shots. Those will fall eventually. He has really embraced his role as PG and running the team. It's making everyone better.

It's making everyone better. The young man’s presence at the end of games has made a big change in the way teams approach the Hoyas when behind late. Last two years they would put on a full court press and try to trap the pg. The trap would leave an open man to go to the basket, but the past Hoya pg’s were not able to advance the ball for being stripped of ball or fear of being stripped of ball. With Akinjo and/or Mac in lineup they don’t use that defense much for fear of Hoyas breaking trap with ease and getting a layup. Akinjo has still not quite adjusted to the quickness and height of the college opposing players so he has not been able to finish at the basket as well as Mac. Mac has more hang time and therefore has more “dipsy do” in his finish. James basically goes straight up which makes his shot easy to block by main defender or help defender. He will get better and better at developing his own “dipsy do” or soft floater when he stops short of basket.

I know we talk about it, but I find it weird how little (unless I've missed it) TV broadcasts mention that Akinjo - a FRESHMAN - leads the Big East in assists per game. I'm no historian, but I'm seriously curious when the last time that happened was. Keep on doing your thing, James

Despite leading the conference in assists for three seasons (Sherman Douglas is the only other one), Jackson played one year in the D-league and that was it. Strange but true: Until 2018-19, No Georgetown player has ever led the Big East in assists. Stranger but true: Since 1992, no Georgetown player has led the Big East in blocks.

Can someone explain how McKnight doesn't get called for carrying on his crossover. Had to do it tonight at least 10 times and the refs never called it... He does it here at the end of the clip after Akinjo took his manhood with that tough drive and layup.
