Good interview but I hoped to hear a better answer to the "what has PE done to help you" question than "he has given me confidence".. Thought he could have sold it better.. I think it's a good answer. Confidence alone can be the difference from average play to elite level play. Without confidence from your coaches, it's hard to compete at your highest level. I think you wanted more detail and nuance in his answer. I agree he could have expanded a little more on his answer...

I figured the answer would be more like "he helps with my footwork or reading defenses, dealing with double teams, studying film ECT.."

Thanks for posting ... a good reminder that most of these pre-season articles are puff pieces to fill some space. Wonder how many BE games (Hoyas or otherwise) the writer has seen. "Bruiser" is probably not in my top 100 words to describe Govan ...

Former Marquette guard given immediate eligibility at FGCU. Could be insight on St. John's guard Mustapha Heron's appeal to the NCAA for immediate eligibility...
But then again could mean absolutely nothing. Who knows when dealing with the NCAA?

He transferred mid year and is eligible mid year. That isn’t immediate eligibility

But then again could mean absolutely nothing. Who knows when dealing with the NCAA? Really looking like Mustapha Heron will be eligible immediately. A surprising amount of transfers are being granted immediate eligibility... I'm starting to wonder about Yurt7 chances for next season?

Not confident about Yurt though since he's a regular transfer, has he even applied for a hardship waiver?... www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/nc-state/article217096765.htmlUnder NCAA transfer rules, the former top-100 recruit from Chapel Hill was supposed to sit out the first semester of the upcoming season. Instead, he received a waiver from the NCAA, which has recently loosened its transfer policies.

I don't really think Yurt7 will be eligible but makes you wonder with all the players being granted waivers. Also the Hoyas compliance office has made miracles happen before. I do think it's only a matter of days before Mustupha Heron is granted a waiver. Another player's eligibility to watch is Jordan Tucker at Butler...

I don't think Jackson, McDermott or Jones should be on this list, they're all pretty proven..

I don't think Jackson, McDermott or Jones should be on this list, they're all pretty proven.. Players can improve year to year. All 3 players have been highly efficient in a very small usage. Now they get their chance with a bigger spotlight on them to show if they can up their output.

Open question: some Big East schools are more social-media intensive than others, and its local reporters are much more visible in the 280 character universe than, say, the Washington Post. Does it make a difference?

I would have listed kids like Cain, Anim & Elliot from Marquette or Baddley from Butler before the 3 I listed above...

Agreed that he could have used any number of players including the 3 Marquette players you listed above along with Baddley from Butler. I do think that those 4 players are lower than under the radar and here's why. I think Marquette is the best team in the BIG EAST entering this upcoming season. One of the reason I believe Marquette is the best team entering the season is because the 3 players you named showed tremendous potential at times last season, and look like they are inline for much bigger, possibly breakout campaigns this upcoming season. There's also a chance that non of them will start next season. That's how deep and talented Marquette is. If they don't finish at or near the top of the BIG EAST, that's on Wojo because he's got the roster...
