If you watched the Nova-UNC Sweet 16 game, you know that UNC loses without Marvin. No! UNC loses without the fantom "traveling" call. ;D

I think that Jeff doesn't leave at the end of next year - beacause he is going to need to work on his ability to post up people and show fluid jump hooks, etc. to really be a lottery pick - i think Jeff will leave when he is a lottery pick and not before that, hence he will leave after his junior year.

If Nova shuts down UNC defensively or keeps up its own offensive output, the traveling call wouldn't have mattered because the Cats would have been up by 8 or so. Nova just dug itself too big a hole early in the game. Even the Wildcat players, to their credit, admitted that in the post-game interviews....

Very good point MCI, Sweentey is as a humble as they come and a an excellent teammate and student. Very much the same mold of Green. I agree it is more likely that he leaves at some point rather than remain the full 4 years. Can't I dream ?!?!? However there is one difference that could possibly sway Green and that's the direction of the program. If I was Sweetney at that time with the state of the program, coach, etc. I would have left too. Possibly with the suprising success of last year and hopefully more of it this year and a possible chance when he is a senior of a team that could make a serious run in March would convince him to stay. Hey maybe im dreaming, but I would love to see this core stay together as long as possible. "Way" not an argument here in regards to Gay and Green but take a look at the 2006 mock draft proposed by nbadraft.net, they have Gay going #1. Not arguing with you just found it interesting. Rudy Gay is a media darling, just like Marvin Williams. If you just watch players without considering how much hype they have and what school the attend, you will see Jeff is far better than both those players. You saw Rudy play this year and Jeff play this year, and it is not even close. Jeff will have more impact in the NBA than Rudy will. Thats it. The only thing Rudy has over Jeff is more athleticism. In terms of intelligence, basketball fundamental skills, mental toughness, leadership, Jeff wins by a mile. I really, really want to agree with you, _way, but how can you say Gay is necessarily not the player Green is? They played VASTLY different roles last year. Green morphed into the first/second option, while Rudy Gay was relagated to the 5th/6th option on his team. I don't get how you can judge his mental toughness, leadership, impact on the game, etc...give them both another season and I'd be more than happy to agree with you. I hate Rudy as much as the next Hoya fan, but c'mon, give him a fair shake. You've seen Rudy Gay the talented starting freshman wildcard, not Rudy Gay, the team dependent leader. Say what you want about his skills, but he never played role anywhere close to what you're bashing him for failing at! On a lighter note: Who wins the dunk contest, Gay or Pat, Jr.?

Pat, Jr. of course! He is a Hoya, allegedly History has shown, Hoya players are always better than Huskie players. Well, except for shooting jump shots and getting money under the table. I think the Huskies have one up on the Hoyas in those two categories. Ewing, Jr. would be more creative. Gay always uses that same one hand tomahawk jam. Seriously, I really don't think Gay is that great of player. But you are right, we will see next year. Calhoun was talking on New York radio back in April and he had said that he sat down with Gay at the end of this past season and told him that he is the man. He is going to UCONN's go to guy, so be ready to step up. So we will see if he Gay is as good as he is hyped up to be.
