It looks as if Katrina was the rabbit. Emily is in 5th with 2 laps to go.

Agree, good start for Emily given her very recent return to health--I think the runners ahead of her are more 5K runners, so she is not too far off where she needs to be for the 10K trials.

It would be great if both Emily and Rachel make the Olympics in the 10,000m (if Rachel opts for that race, as she has the 1500m and 5000m qualifiers for the OTs).

Emily Infeld: This is my first outdoor race since 2017 (my last race was Long Island mile ā”ļø). Injuries pre and post surgery have kept me away from the outdoor track. While I am not in the best shape of my life, just being able to line up and say my body is healthy is a huge win!! Iām excited to compete and then get back to working on getting better. Rust busted š
felt very very fast for my leggies yesterday and ended up solo for the last 3 laps (when my speedster teammates crushed) but still solid effort šŖš½ was really fun to get back out there to race!!

Katrina Coogan was 6th in the 2-mile at the NB Grand Prix at Staten Island in a PR of 9:27.45. She clocked a 8:51.43 3000m enroute for another PR.

Amos Bartelsmeyer was 8th in the 1500m in the same NB meet in 3:38.16, a PR for him. He had the 2nd fastest last 300m in 42.01 in the race.

You may have been thinking where Joe White has gone. He had some bad luck with injuries his last year. He was 3rd at the NCAA 800m with his PR of 1:45.71. I think he made an effort to go pro, but the pandemic struck. Now he is training with Penn State graduate Isaiah Harris under Harris' Penn State coach John Gondak. Stay tuned.

From letsrun.com: Emily Infeld will line up for her first 10k since August 2017. Infeld, 30, has an incredible championship record (3rd 2015 Worlds, 11th 2016 Olympics, 6th 2017 Worlds) at 10k. If she can get the standard this weekend and make it to the Olympic Trials in one piece, watch out.

I posted before looking through the rest of the Camel City results, because:
Rachel and Josette both ran well to go 1-2 in the Women's Elite Mile. The 3k (which Rachel won) was scheduled at start at 3:00pm, the mile was scheduled for 3:50pm! That's a good turnaround for her. Nice work Rachel and Josette!

Rachel Schneider earned herself a double victory (and $12,000 in prize money) Saturday, while Willy Fink, Hannah Segrave and Craig Nowak each won big. Rachel deserve the prize money because of her almost back-to-back victories. Josette the only one to give her a run for the money.

We had some alums running at the 2021 Texas Qualifier in Austin, TX this weekend live.athletic.net/meets/7337/events: Amos was 2nd in the Men's 1500m Great race for Amos, though short of the event participants' stated goal of the Olympic Standard of 3:35.0. From what I've read, it seems like the field really hammered from the start chasing the Standard and then the majority died, so good for Amos to stick through and finish well. Josette was 3rd and Rachel was 4th in the Women's 5000m Josette's time here is under the Olympic Trials Standard of 15:20. Rachel finished ahead of former Steeplechase World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist Emma Coburn. Good job for both of them! Katrina raced the Women's 10,000m but didn't finish.
