I was thinking the same thinklg. Go to Chicago to visit. I believe pinson is suppose to trim his list to 2 tomorrow. Wasn't aware that he was going to trim his list to two soon, but if that is the case, and the staff thinks they have a real chance, then they need to have someone, and hopefully Coach Ewing if possible, at the game to show him some love.

There was some confusion on a tweet ge sent out last week. He changed it from last Friday to this coming Friday. Few days ago he deleted his tweet all together. We'll see what he does tomorrow I guess.
Some of the other teams he had on his list was Memphis, Missouri and some other mid majors. Maryland, Oklahoma State, and Butler have tried to jump in recently.

We seem to be on several PGs for '18. If we whiff, I hope the coaching carousel frees up a gem. Not a fan of Jucos or 5th years. I did love Pryor though.

Looked good to me when I was watching. Their team is well balanced so they spread it around. Baron Davis was doing the game and had some nice things to say about Pinson although he thought he was a 2019 kid. Walker probably took 20 + shots to get that 19

Good article...I'm surprised we haven't been linked to Harris. Would think Kirby's Southern roots would be helpful with him.

Only thing I can think is he wants a kid with more size since MCclung isn't very big/long. Wash and Pinson have the height to play off ball some, but I'd like to see them take a look at Harris.

Didn't wow according to...? Well, the article linked didn't say anything special about Pinson other than the number of points he scored. Conversely, I'd say the author appeared to be "wowed" by Talen Horton-Tucker. The Sun-Times also typically lists rebounds, assists, and steals if those stats are noteworthy. The fact that Pinson's name was mentioned only once, at the end of the article, only saying that he scored 11 points, implies to me that the author of the article was now wowed.

If Tyler Harris is the kid I remember from the SC Select All Star game then I like him too, but he is small but has game and can get buckets. I watched the entire game yesterday with Pinson and I thought he seemed like a decent prospect, but needs to get a lot stronger. But more importantly for me, I kept asking myself if he's a difference maker? I'm not sure if he is. His teammate Talen-Horton is a definite difference maker. I thought both Govan and Derrickson would be difference makers coming out of high school. I never thought Jagan Mosely would be a difference maker coming out of high school but I always thought he'd be helpful, which he has been. Is Pinson more in the mold of Mosely than Derrickson? My haunch says yes and if that's the case are we better off with the bulk of the guard minutes being split between Mac, Mosely and Blair? I mean we're not getting that much out of Mulmore and Dickerson partly due to the increased production of Mosely and Blair. I'm more hopeful that something happens with Kevin Ollie at UConn and James Akinjo becomes available again. Now he's a difference maker. I think he'd start from day one and provide toughness, scoring ability and ball handling and enable Mac to play more off the ball to score and finish. If a true difference maker doesn't become available should they hold the scholarship for one of the junior point guards they're looking at, or should they look for the next so called slept on guard ala Vee Sanford who may or may not make a difference?

Horton is always gonna get the wow factor, he's that good.. Pinson looked good to me, he has "whoa" type athleticism to go along with a nice skill set.. His mid range game is the truth & he's very bouncy but it can easily be negated due to his lack of strength right now.. If/when he gets stronger he'll be a very productive player..

I’ve come around on Pinson. Initially I thought he was a stretch and could use a postgrad year. While I think that would still benefit him, he is clearly a player and his strengths (ballhandling, passing, midrange) align perfectly with what we need. I hope staff is making him high priority from here on out. However, it does seem like Mizzou may have a leg up though.
