Toughest part of that list is the good crowd with everyone gone for the holidays. Same will apply to the Creighton game. Hopefully, Chris G. comes up with something. Bubbleheads tonight. Looking at the schedule (again ), I like: - that we'll play 3 away and 2 home games while school's out. That is pretty lucky for our students vs. other years; - that we get the away games of Marquette and then DePaul back-to-back which means less travel for the team; - that the Jan. 17 Villanova game is on the Tuesday after MLK Day, which could mean less Villanova students at the Capitol One; - that we get the DePaul and St. Johns series out of the way by Jan. 24 (good prep for the rest of the league schedule); - that there's only one set of "2 BE games in 3 days" this season and both games are at home (i.e., no travel); - that we end the season with three out of the last four games at home; and, - that the last game of the season is at Nova and it's their Spring Break. The only item in the schedule I don't like is the three straight away games vs. Creighton, Xavier and Providence. But, at least we offset that with two 3-straight-home-games sets.

Wasn't the whole cupcake schedule set up to win this game? This is one of the home games that we could "steal" on the schedule so it this wasn't the goal of the cupcake them I'm not sure what was. Unless it was to simply to inflate PE's record. Patrick's philosophy was to play the soft schedule, with a young team that lost its top 2 scorers, to be able to gain experience with the offensive and defensive schemes, hopefully develop some confidence. It was not "to win this game". The schedule was historically weak, every one of us knows that. OK so when is the confidence supposed to pay dividends if it's not this game?

Unless it was to simply to inflate PE's record. I think it was to have a chance to win this game. Do you remember the disarray? The team needed to be assembled and taught PE’s style of play. Playing a difficult schedule would have been counter-productive for this group this year.

Does anyone really have any idea what to expect today? I know I sure don't. Maybe the Syracuse game gave us a clue, maybe not.

OK so when is the confidence supposed to pay dividends if it's not this game? Hopefully by not having Georgetown replace DePaul in the cellar of the BE. If that was the only hope then Im not sure the schedule mattered. Im not sure this team would be any different no matter what the OOC schedule looked like. I haven't seen much improvement from game 1 and they failed the only test they had. For the schedule to make any sense besides record padding they should show up this game. If not what did it matter if they lose this and the next vs not great BE teams or solid OOC teams. With the philosophy on here a couple losses and this team is too mentally weak to recover.

Dickerson should not play. Im not sure what he brings to this team at all. Maybe if they were pressing but he's not needed in this game.

Gotta feeling Ewing is going to talk to Dickerson about taking the ball to the rim into traffic on the last possession

We've missed a couple bunnies that could have us up by 10+ right now. Still way to many horrendous and self-inflicted turnovers. Can't believe our point guards still turn the ball over in the fashion they do consistently.

I keep having this weird internal conflict were the defense looks better but yet they get wide open shots. Thankfully they are missing them. Jessie is such a better defender though and that greatly helps.

The help on defense is such a refreshing change. Also the ball pressure by the guards.

One thing that definitely didnt help was getting this thread going. We are destroying our 1st BE opponent and its so quiet here.

If we could just cut down on the $hit TOs and get 7-10 more shots up, we would be tough to beat. Our D is a pleasant surprise this year. How were our rotations so terrible with almost the same group last year?
