And UCLA and their fans all just breathed a huge sigh of relief.
I hope it works out well for the kids in spite of the histrionics of the father since the spotlight started shining on the family. Maybe if the younger brothers start playing abroad, dad will start splitting his time supporting each of the kids and the pressure to perform is relieved a bit for all three. Being called a bust already has to be getting to Lonzo regardless of what he or his dad says.
I'm guessing Gelo won't get signed by a Chinese team.

Calling Lonzo a bust is stupid. It's probably the same people who were calling Jared Goff a bust last season.

I and those I associate with must live in a different universe from some people. There was a story in the LA Times today about how the Ball family, including LaWindBag the patriarch, were mobbed in New York City on Sunday (the Lakers are playing the Knicks tonight), with many people yelling that LaVar was their idol, and with all kinds of people wearing their gear. Excuse me? I'd just like to see him move to Lithuania.

Hey, if Ball wants to throw his money away, more power to him. I know it's not his intention, but I think this will be an effective way to show that D1 basketball is a incomparable opportunity for elite players. On the one hand, you've got free room and board, excellent coaching and facilities, trainers, exposure, games televised on major networks, COA, adulation of students and alums and an education. On the other hand you've got $3-10k/month, games in empty NBA arenas and...what? What kid is going to turn down all that comes with being an NCAA basketball player for this? If a kid has the skills to be a one-and-done, he can go to Europe and play in an established league and get paid if he doesn't want to go the NCAA route. They don't need some new start-up league in the States.

John Wooden, Coach K and Boobie Knight can all take lessons from LaVar. Not to mention Phil Jackson and Red Auerbach. So that's the reason why kids will flock to this, because they want to learn from the best.

Without offering an opinion on his idea, while I realize you have to strike when you think the iron is hot, I really wish he'd try taking a year or so off from being the character he's been to give his kids a better shot at what they've been working towards as a family for the better part of two decades. It's doubtful that anyone else will be trying to fill that perceived competitive space in the interim.

Cody Riley and Jalen Hill suspended for the season by UCLA. Any comments now, Elvado? Frankly, after Ball 2 bolted, I was sort of hoping that Riley and Hill would be immediately reinstated as an up yours to LaVar, but this is the correct result.

I am both shocked and pleased that UCLA took this stand.

Lavar Ball appeals to the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR/TROLL-LIKE INDIVIDUAL for the most part, unfortunately those types of people seem to outnumber the rest of us. I'm not surprised at all that he received a hero's welcome. What's worse is, some sensible people actually think he's some sort of visionary or pioneer because he's "challenging the system", not a jester willing to stoop to the lowest levels to get attention!!

Nice to see Troll Goodman get recognized for his journalistic chops: I know Jeff Goodman isn't a favorite among Hoya fans because he always harps on Georgetown's OOC schedule, but he always struck me as a non-descript journalist, not a Skip Bayless/Stephen A.Smith-type who have no problem acting like a buffoon to get attention/views/social media likes!! I mean, before J.Goodman started bashing Georgetown, did any of you have a positive or negative opinion of him?? The fact that J.Goodman has now become Lavar Ball's personal reporter/mouthpiece has to have really damaged his career going forward. You guys think he volunteered to take on this role or did ESPN force him to do it!!

LaVar and Co. gets an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. I would have more faith in that BBB than the one promoted by the huckster. And his latest missile against Luke Walton is another pile of dung. Thanks for that, Jeff Goodman!

Why is this newsworthy? I'd like to see a basketball land in his mouth. It's just about the right size.
