Miami seems to be able to find the finances to win these recruiting battles.

Phillips has an offer from Overtime Elite. So i'd expect if he goes the college route...someone is going to cough up some dough.
If he goes to LSU I'm going to be sick.
Also appears we're his last visit before he announces.

I still have PTSD from watching the Malcolm, Tim, Qudus, Sibley, Billingsley, etc… high school/AAU highlight videos. They looked like they had a ton of potential. Whether they had/have it or not, as we have seen, Pat only does well with developed Cs (Jessie and Omer). I didn’t include Jamorko because, as we saw from his tweets, Jamorko spent his summers and extra time learning and drilling with private coaches. I hope Ryan is smart and does it too. As to Phillips, I see a player who moves well under the basket and dunks. I saw some similar things to get excited about with Malcolm, Tim, Qudus, etc… How’s his defense? How’s his 5-footer? How about a lay-up? Does he pass (our recent centers are pass-averse)? He’ll get a lot of attention because of his size and ease of movement, but I think Pat would have learned the lesson to not be too distracted by those attributes. There needs to be a lot more to his game by now because Pat hasn’t been able to develop his C projects’ skills. That said, here he would get at least 15 mpg as a freshman. That’s the state of the team on Zinc-oh day Mah-yee-oh…

Also appears we're his last visit before he announces. Phillips would be an exciting addition for sure. Crazy upside, a little raw, a lot athletic. As far as the money thing, the NIL thing, who knows? It is brand new, largely unregulated, and swirling with noxious rumors of preposterous player valuations. Of course, I don't doubt for a second that businesses all over the country are teeming with unneeded reserves of cash that they have been aching to pay out to unknown high school basketball players, and we're talking tens and hundreds of thousands, just give them that chance, so their favorite teams have a chance at top three regular season in conference. I mean, duh.

Hey guys our coaching staff is playing chess. Let’s go Hoyas! LOL - our staff has no clue how to play tic-tac-toe. Worst head coach in the country.

His defense looks pretty good, there's a few things that could be fixed (like going vertical and not reaching). Rebounds are solid and he moves pretty well in this footage. A good 15min is all he needs as a fresh IMO, spread the minutes and develop. He's the right guy in our time of need, I hope that doesn't come off as sounding desperate but PE can make it work I'm sure. We need to get a flow of bigs on the Hilltop, I remember when we we're screaming for guards, PE delivered. WE NEED BIGS AT LEAST TWO MORE!!!!

He looks a little more mobile and has more quickness than Ryan, but Ryan has a more developed offensive game. His highlights remind me of Q when he was in high school. Most of his scoring is done with dunks and he relies on being bigger and stronger than his competition in high school. I am not sure that will translate into the Big East, at least not as a freshman. If you were looking for a player to develop and be a rotation player in his 2nd or 3rd year, then I think he is a great option, but if you need him to be a major contributor in his first year, I think that is a stretch.

I have a feeling all people are looking at is this kid size and highlights and therefore assuming he is the next big thing. He very well may be at some point and if we didn't have Wilson I would take him in a heartbeat. I say that because if people think he is going to be an impact player next year I don't think that is remotely happening and then again all you have at Center is Ryan and Wilson. Could this kid come in and rebound and play some defense right away...I guess so...but for a guy like me that is not completely sold on Q being here next year I would take Q immediately before this kid right now... See the next video...this is against kids which he completely physically dominates but the performance is very underwhelming....

It's too much of a gamble. Unless the kid is a top 25 lock and can contribute right away, they tend to be a bust. Now if we can get a Bacot and keep him for three years, sure. We just have shown no ability to do that however in the past 5 years. Hit the waiver wire. WHen in doubt, hit it again. I would take a 6'8 grinder type and go small ball rather then rely on this. I would also rather recruit Colin as our super small ball 5 then this.

I hope they go a PF type body like you said. Collin is more last resort. I would like him back but not as our starting 4 and he wouldn't start over the other options at the 3 so basically a solid back up that would definitely see some playing time against the right match ups.

He has some skills, he's big, has bulk, moves well, and has an assertive attitude...All that is good!

I hope we miss on every player from here on out so the whole program is completely overturned. I like Ewing honestly but the fact my wife knew we were 0-20 in big east is embarrassing as she knows zilch about sports.

Jeremy Foumena 6-11, Orangeville, Canada says he has a Georgetown offer for 2022. At 1:01 in the video Foumena calls out GU The Rams pulled in a pair of commitments on Sunday, two freshmen who figure to find the Ryan Center court sooner rather than later in 2022-23. Maryland wing Louis Hutchinson and Canadian center Jeremy Foumena both pledged to URI via their personal social media accounts. They join George Washington transfer guard Brayon Freeman among the first recruiting class for coach Archie Miller. Hutchinson is a rangy 6-foot-7 and profiles as either a big guard or small forward. He suffered an injury during his junior season and planned to push his commitment date into the Class of 2023. URI was able to change his mind thanks to leading interest from assistant coach Kenny Johnson. Foumena is a 6-foot-11 frontcourt presence who can step out to the midrange with his jump shot. He’s out of the same program that helped develop Jamal Murray, Luguentz Dort and Thon Maker among other NBA players. Rams assistant coach Duane Woodward used his international contacts as the lead. Hutchinson claimed early offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Memphis and more. He also held interest from Clemson, Florida State, Georgetown, Marquette, Maryland, Syracuse and more. Hutchinson played on the Nike grassroots circuit with Team Durant. Foumena claimed offers from Georgetown and Central Florida along with interest from Indiana, Illinois, Oregon, Marquette, DePaul and more. He also played on the Nike circuit last summer with the Georgia Stars, suiting up for 10 games. Foumena averaged 3.4 points and 4.0 rebounds against strong competition on the EYBL stage. www.providencejournal.com/story/sports/2022/05/01/uri-basketball-commitments-louis-hutchinson-and-jeremy-foumena-join-rams/9608326002/
