Ummmm, the staff hadn't already offer Dug McDaniel??? Wowza. He is the top guy on the board for me in 2022. Total game changer.

Am I wrong in thing that per NCAA rules it wasn't legal to offer class of 2022 kids before this week?

For those who have suggested that we haven't focused enough on local recruits (myself included), take a look at local players in the Top 100 (per 247) in the class of 2022: Maryland Noah Bachelor, #52--Offered Favour Aire, #53--Not yet Rodney Rice, #54--Offered Tyrell Ward, #67--Offered DC Judah Mintz, #61--Offered Christian Watson, #97--Offered VA Dug McDaniel, #42--Offered There are a few other kids in Virginia in the Top 100, but not locals. I'm not sure why Aire hasn't been offered yet but otherwise doing alright. We've also offered Devin Dinkins from Gonzaga who is outside the Top 100 as of now. Obviously offering locals is only half the battle, and what really matters is winning them. But having offered these guys by the end of their sophomore years is a good first step and an improvement over the previous class (where a fringe Top 50 local player like Jordan Hawkins wasn't offered until after his junior season was over).

Georgetown: “[Patrick Ewing] called my dad to offer me, but I’ve been talking to Coach [Robert] Kirby. I like how they play. I like how they let their guards. I watched them play a few times this year because they’ve been showing interest.”

Sophomore Lee Dort moved from Haiti to the United States two years ago. Since then he’s landed more than 12 high major scholarship offers. Dort’s coach and guardian, Derrick Shelby, said he’s shown growth and development since landing in Texas. “What I like is his ability to grasp concepts quickly, he competes and he has an impeccable work ethic,” Shelby said. “When you’re working with kids, especially international kids, sometimes international kids get here and figure they’re good now because they made it here, this kid’s not like that. He works extremely hard and he has just played over 60 games and that’s it. Every game he has gotten better.” Regardless of Dort’s short time playing competitively in the United States, he has quickly made his way to the top of the rankings and has reeled in offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Mississippi State, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Georgetown, Minnesota, Kansas, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Vanderbilt, Arizona and Arizona State. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Lee-Dort-15-scholarship-offers-Arkansas-Baylor-Mississippi-State-Texas-Texas-Tech-Texas-AM-Georgetown-Minnesota-Kansas-Oklahoma-State-SMU-TCU-Vanderbilt-Arizona-Arizona-State-148452902/
