After asking myself for so many years. Why hasn't there been a story of the best high school team ever? The Dunbar Poets of Baltimore City Public Schools. A true story about some determined young people about a game they love. Two Hoyas represented this great team. Reggie Williams and David Wingate.

"Best ever" is highly subjective in the ESPN era, because sports does not exist before 1979 at the Worldwide Leader. Case in point: Hall of Famer John Kundla died today. He coached the Lakers to five NBA titles but because it was in the pre-TV era, it doesn't merit even page 1 of their web site. Maybe they'll note him at the end of Sports Center before going to WWE highlights. As to Dunbar, a strong or stronger case could also be made for the Power Memorial teams of the early 1960's, Indianapolis' Crispus Attucks teams of the late 1950's and even DC's John Carroll teams from 1958-60.
