No news about the visit, no tweets or instagrams?

Not that I've seen... Bates is not really active on social media though. He posts pretty infrequently.

How about Gtown, no photos, etc... we're (Me) always searching for cm crumbs of info.
Don't you find it funny that Jamarko has gone from 6-9 to 6-7, and Antwan has gone from 6-7 to 6-7 on the roster?

Scout is reporting that Bates has cancelled his visits to GT and USC and will decide between Georgetown and NCSU tomorrow.

Down to 2, the "chatter" is for the other school - hmmm, where have I seen that before?π

The chatter is likely an educated guess after the kid visited NC state and then cancelled all subsequent visits. Maybe he wants to stay home, maybe he wants to branch out. Maybe he just thought he had seen enough and Gtown was it but he felt obligated to give the home town team a shot. We have room and playing time but NC State likely offers the same with a much different academic profile.

We got a 50/50 chance. I just think its highly coincidental that F/C Javian Fleming is scheduled to visit next weekend and now outta no-where Bates will give us his announcement. Maybe I'm reading too much into it...but it is curious to note.

He's always been considered an NC St lean, and is widely predicted to go there by the gurus...to my knowledge PE (and staff) went out to visit Fleming and Leblanc but did not do the same with Bates, which would likely not be a good sign (but again, I'm not sure that is the case...I've just not seen it reported)...he may just yield to the pressure of staying close to home ...but to me, albeit biased, for him to turn down an opportunity to learn/grow under a multi year college All American, perenial NBA All Star and HOF player, and 14 -15 year NBA coach who PLAYED YOUR POSITION, wouldn't make a lot of sense to me...hopefully, the gurus are wrong and he will seize the opportunity.

I would love for Patrick and staff to go visit him at home this evening, and put on the full court press. Invite him once more to become a Hoya. There's no reason why Javian and Immanuel can't work together!!

Would a potential verbal cause any problems for the recruitment of some of the bigs in the 19 class?

As a big man what better teacher can you learn from than Ewing. We'll see. Im optimistic. Maybe he wanted to see how nc state would receive him before joining us.

Would a potential verbal cause any problems for the recruitment of some of the bigs in the 19 class? We haven't exactly had a problem, recently, with recruits deciding to go elsewhere because of a commitment from another recruit. . .we need to get the first one in the door, and not worry about its impact on another recruit. It's a nice problem to have, and it hasn't been a recurrent issue.

This announcement is a positive development on some level regardless of the outcome- either we land a nice recruit or know to focus elsewhere. Better to know now than later when pickings will be slimmer.

Big run on NC St predictions on 24/7 -- 11 today so far.
If we don't get Bates, Fleming becomes priority 1.
