Not to say that Mac could or couldn't fulfill the need at the point but I would really like to see us nail down both Jaelin Llewellyn and Mac McClung. That would be a very nice back court! I just don't see Llewelyn choosing the Hoyas. And I'd take McClung in heartbeat----beggars can't be choosers right now. I agree totally. We need guards. We are top heavy in the area of big men right now. Of course, if that Ewing type big man comes along we nab him.

I would have to disagree in regards to being top heavy with the big's, but I didn't count for the walk-on or Walker. Walker IMO is a SF but I haven't seen him play. We need ball handlers that can produce some offense regardless of their position.

I don't think we are "heavy" with quality players at any position, at this point. Unfortunate, but true.

The play is becoming so much more fleet footed and quick that we have been getting killed because our guys can't stay in front of players. The way the game is going right now we need to be able to go small and quick.

Still looking for PE first 2018 commitment, whomever he gets out the gate will set the tone for the next recruit. We may see some late or stay outs before this happens.

The way the game is going right now we need to be able to go small and quick. This isn't really true for most of JT3's period as coach. There were definitely holes at point guard after Starks graduated in 2014, and then after DSR left, but before then, we generally had decent guards - and especially in the period where we had Wright/Freeman/Clark. I don't think we need to go small and quick as much as we need good players. We weren't a slow team last year; we were just a bad one. In fact, in the last few years, Villanova has been one of the slowest teams in Division I. As far as going "small," that's definitely the trend across basketball as far as bigs are concerned, and I expect we will (hopefully) follow that trend under Ewing.

Actually despite all of the hype, the successful teams are just going to quick and versatile players--not necessarily going small. Last year's NCAA was filled with many teams that did not go small. Look at the size of the pgs that were drafted this year in the NBA--very few are "small." I always liked JT III's recruiting length for his perimeter players, but it breaks down when that length is combined with a lack of lateral mobility or the quickness to stay in front of the opponent on defense or break free on offense. Georgetown simply brought in too many one-dimensional players.

Okay, "too many one dimensional players". We can agree on that, I do believe. I didn't mean small literally, just the ability to stay in front of your man, matching in quickness and speed. Of course, unless you are Kevin Durant, there is somewhat of a trade off, you have to agree.

In first game at Adidas Gauntlet Finale (a loss), scored 4 points on 1-8 fg, 0-4 3fg, 2-4 ft, 3 assists, 2 rebounds in 18 minutes.
Played much better in his game this morning, a blowout win over New World. 13 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds.
