We seem to be reaching out to transfers, so I guess we’re not done recruiting for next season. Yeah, it seems like the staff is staying active recruiting high schoolers/transfers for roster spots for next year. I would expect to hear more about any roster changes on the current roster in the next week or so and then maybe the picture becomes clearer. Should be interesting.

Just watched Kennedy Chandler... that kid is a beast. Probably won't happen but if he is in college as a sophomore, he's at least going to a FF....

Would think he ends up following Shaka to Marquette. Wisconsin kid.

I don’t admit to being in the know on Trevor Keels’ ultimate destination. But, he is down to Duke, Villanova and Virginia. His Crystal Ball does have three predictions to Duke. I have not placed a prediction yet. Keels, along with a handful of other 2021 prospects really has my attention. I love him as a competitor. I love his physicality, size and strength. He has a complete game. And he is just that guy that I would want on my team. I would venture that Keels will be a solid NBA player for years. Here is my scouting report for him: Tremendous physical strength for a shooting guard. Has length as well. Highly competitive with an impressive basketball IQ. Plays a power game but can score from all three levels. Solid ball handler. Good passer. Has strength to be a better rebounder. Solid defender. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Meyer-Mailbag-Rick-Majerus-Texas-Tech-Chris-Beard-Trevor-Keels-Breon-Pass-Utah-North-Carolina-State-Duke-Virginia-Villanova-151830524/

I don't think Coach K is retiring just yet.

Carter was my favorite prospect at Power 24 because of his consistent production in different styles of games. In transition, he made great decisions when finding teammates and in the half court he was able to break down good defenders and get into the lane to make plays. At 6’3” he rebounded well from his guard position and often times was the initiator of fast breaks for New Orleans Elite. What set Carter apart from most guards over the weekend was his lay-up making ability on both sides of the rim. He was able to finish amongst legitimate big men and as the weekend went on, his shot making from the mid-range and three-point area got better which made him an even tougher cover for opposing defenses. Already holding an offer from Southeastern Louisiana and recently picking up another from Southern University, I would expect more Division I head coaches to inquire about the rising senior from East Ascension. ontheradarhoops.com/power-24-senior-stock-risers-july-23-2020/

My understanding is Efton Reid is from Richmond, VA and is a 6-11 PF/C.

It’s hard to believe, but Reid is probably headed to Pitt.

It’s hard to believe, but Reid is probably headed to Pitt. I’ve gotten those vibes as well and people have said it’s more so that he would be the main man and the whole offense would go through him which he’d want as a probable one and done. Fair enough if he wants to go to pitt for guaranteed max playing time and maybe help Capel save his job

A 6-foot-7 forward that might be best used in a small ball power forward role, David Joplin is a strong and versatile prospect in the frontcourt. Situated just a 15-minute drive from downtown Milwaukee, Joplin just completed his junior season with the Brookfield Central High program. He averaged nearly 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks on the season, while making almost half of his shots from the field and close to 38-percent of his perimeter attempts. A member of the 2021 class, Joplin already possesses a strong, college-ready frame that should suit him well as he gets older. Joplin has already begun to make a name for himself thanks to his play last summer with the Meanstreets program on the 16-under level, and with his local high school unit over the winter. He has received offers from Offered by DePaul, Georgetown, Green Bay, Milwaukee, UNLV and Valparaiso, while Butler is another that has shown heavy interest in him. He has also visited the campuses at Butler, Iowa, Loyola Chicago, and Wisconsin in recent months. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/introducing-versatile-forward-david-joplinName: David Joplin Offers: Butler, Missouri, Georgetown, DePaul, UNLV A versatile forward, Joplin had a very good high school season, and since then his recruitment has picked up in a major way. At around 6-foot-6 or 6-foot-7, Joplin can play either forward spot, though he might be best as a mismatch power forward. Joplin saw his stock rise even without the aid of summer basketball, and it is likely that more offers come his way before it is all said and done. His toughness and skill at his size have a lot of high-majors intrigued, and offers are being made as more coaches get their hands on his film. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Basketball-recruiting-Kansas-Villanova-Rahsool-Diggins-North-Carolina-DMarco-Dunn-Xavier-Texas-Illinois-Jahmai-Mashack-147383306/#147383306_2On April 3, David Joplin announced his decommitment from Texas. The 2021 Rivals150 No. 93 prospect committed to Texas in August over the likes of Minnesota, Iowa State, Georgetown, Missouri and others. As expected, almost immediately Joplin’s phone has been ringing. “I’ve heard from Minnesota, Marquette, Wake Forest, Virginia, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and I actually just got off the phone with Xavier and Georgia as well,” Joplin said. “I can score from anywhere and use my size and handle to get where I want on the floor. I also want to guard the other team’s best player each time out. I have heard people tell me I play like Tracy McGrady based off my ability to make tough shots,” Joplin said. The Milwaukee/Brookfield Central wing has been through the process before, and he has an idea of how he will be going through it this time. “I would like to make a decision within the next month or so, being a 2021 there is a tight window now, for sure." Joplin concluded, “I’ll be looking for a program who needs a wing and wants a scorer to come in and play. I love to win, it’s what I do, so I want to go to a winning program as well." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/interest-surging-for-former-texas-commit-david-joplin

I don't remember who his finalists were but I could see UVA or UNC. If he chooses Duke it would be great for us with Baldwin...

They have had a lot of players declare for pro and transfer and so they need like 5 more scholarship players to fill the roster. However, one position that they are completely stacked is the small forward position which is the position that Baldwin plays. They have like 4 or 5 players at the small forward position on the roster already. I don't see Baldwin going to Duke for that reason, too many players playing his position.

Agreed with this take - not sure how adding Reid makes Duke less attractive for Baldwin than it already is. Reid and Baldwin play totally different positions.

My understanding is Efton Reid is from Richmond, VA and is a 6-11 PF/C. The most tight-lipped recruitment of the 2021 cycle almost met its end on Thursday. Notoriously mysterious five-star center Efton Reid out of Florida’s IMG Academy seemed set to choose among Pitt, LSU, Ohio State and Florida State and had almost everyone guessing who would receive his letter of intent. He announced his intention to make a Thursday afternoon commitment, and things seemed to be building toward a crescendo. That crescendo never arrived. Instead, Reid’s mother - aka Mama Bear - called off the scheduled announcement with a tweet at 7:30 p.m. ET. Reid, who says about as much as a silent film star when it comes to his recruitment, seemed to be leaning toward FSU early in the day before chatter surrounding multiple other teams started to emerge in the afternoon. Then came the postponement. Where things go from here is anyone’s guess, but the intrigue is certainly welcome because the late period has been otherwise low on true drama thus far. Reid’s recruitment isn’t expected to drag out much longer. Then again, it was originally supposed to be over by now. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/top-five-late-signing-period-developments
