Trevor Keels: One of the top underclassmen at the event was Fairfax (Va.) Paul VI freshman guard Trevor Keels. A combo, Keels showed an ability to impact the game playing both on and off the ball. Keels, who is just 14 years old, has good size at 6-foot-4 and he plays a physical brand of basketball, especially considering his age and playing against players much older than him. Keels has good vision and is a quality passer, but he’s also a capable scorer that can make shots off the catch out to 22-feet and showed and ability to finish at the rim. Keels gets big minutes for a loaded Paul VI team and didn’t back down from impressive competition all weekend. He’s a freshman in the D.C. area to keep an eye one. Recruiting: It's still very early, but Maryland, Georgetown and others Rivals #35 nationally in his class. n.rivals.com/prospect_rankings/rivals150/2021

With a full season under his belt as a starter for the one of the more respected high school programs nationally (Paul VI Catholic High), Keels can be best described as sturdy. What position he will ultimately play I don't know, but what I do know is just how versatile, smart and efficient he is. He repeatedly made the right pass out of the dribble-drive and took care of the rock whenever pressure was applied. Keels should make an impact at a high-major program right from the get-go, and wherever he does land, the program will be sure to welcome a box-score filler with the four-star prospect. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/usa-basketball-evans-saturday-top-performers

Getting mixed info if Bretner Mutombo is one of Dikembe Mutombo's sons? Some articles say yes he is but hard to corroborate as some articles don't say anything about who his parents are. He is from Georgia where Dikembe calls home. Also is Ryan Mutombo in the 2021 class or 2022? There is conflicting info on what class he's in...

That kid is actually from Florida.

That kid is actually from Florida. Yeah I saw that at one point he was living in Jacksonville FL. I didn't think he was his son either. I thought possibly a relative. Maybe his nephew or something. Then I came across a couple of articles like this one that said: "Dikembe MutomboThe 18-year NBA veteran has a son, Bretner, who plays for the Georgia Stars U16 team. Bretner, a class of 2021 recruit, isn’t as tall as his 7 foot, 2 inch dad (6’9), but is still growing. The elder Mutombo won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times and was an eight-time All-Star."At Peach Jam, Players Arrive With NBA & NFL LegaciesI think If he was his son, he would have heard more about him. Still wonder if he is related in someway to Dikembe Mutombo?

Jalen Carruth, the son of Rashaad Carruth, and Bretner Mutombo, the nephew of Dikembe Mutombo, both caught our eye. Carruth is a 6-foot-4 wing that can shoot it, while Mutombo showed potential as a rim runner, shot blocker and rebounder. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Holiday-Hoopsgiving-Brandon-Boston-Chance-Moore-JT-Thor-among-standouts-125384348/

ATLANTA -- Sophomore guard Chance Moore had his coming out party on the opening day of the Holiday Hoopsgiving. Heading into the event, Moore, a 6-foot-5 guard prospect out of Atlanta (Ga.) Holy Innocents, didn’t have a national profile, but if his 30-point performance on Friday was any indication, that’s soon to change. Moore already has a scholarship offer from Rutgers and after his game Friday, Georgia officially offered him a scholarship as well. Moore also cited interest from Georgetown and Xavier. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Holiday-Hoopsgiving-Sophomore-guard-Chance-Moore-breaks-out-125203982/
