My understanding is Efton Reid is from Richmond, VA and is a 6-11 PF/C. The most tight-lipped recruitment of the 2021 cycle almost met its end on Thursday. Notoriously mysterious five-star center Efton Reid out of Florida’s IMG Academy seemed set to choose among Pitt, LSU, Ohio State and Florida State and had almost everyone guessing who would receive his letter of intent. He announced his intention to make a Thursday afternoon commitment, and things seemed to be building toward a crescendo. That crescendo never arrived. Instead, Reid’s mother - aka Mama Bear - called off the scheduled announcement with a tweet at 7:30 p.m. ET. Reid, who says about as much as a silent film star when it comes to his recruitment, seemed to be leaning toward FSU early in the day before chatter surrounding multiple other teams started to emerge in the afternoon. Then came the postponement. Where things go from here is anyone’s guess, but the intrigue is certainly welcome because the late period has been otherwise low on true drama thus far. Reid’s recruitment isn’t expected to drag out much longer. Then again, it was originally supposed to be over by now. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/top-five-late-signing-period-developmentsPeople were calling out his mom who basically runs and posts everything, that she just wants the attention and some people were even swearing at her on Twitter apparently

Update on editing Reid if curious: Ohio state landed a center transfer from Indiana so they are out and it’s apparently down to Pitt, FSU and LSU with pitt and lsu benefitting from the delay as FSU was everyone’s pick and no new announcement date yet. Some state that Reid was still shaky about his choice or didn’t know at all yet. Although people are suspicious of Lsu basically coming out of nowhere to jump ahead to the top set but it’s not about what you know, it’s about what you can prove...

Jaden Hardy went on a tear to start the high school season playing with Henderson (Nev.) Coronado and made a strong push into the top five and made a case for being named the top overall prospect in the 2021 class. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound combo guard is an elite scorer who made a big jump in his development over the past year, most notably in his ball skills, making him a lethal shot-creator and shot-maker. Hardy is a prototypical guard with his size, length, frame and athleticism and while he is an elite three-level scorer with deep range on his jumper, he is also an outstanding passer giving him the ability to play on the ball as well. Hardy cut his list to 12 last April consisting of Arizona State, Georgia, UCLA, Texas Tech, Georgetown, Oregon, Kentucky, Michigan, Memphis, Kansas, and Illinois and has remained quiet on the recruiting front ever since. Right now, the three options receiving buzz behind the scenes are the G League, UCLA and Kentucky, in that order. Kentucky was slotted as the early favorite in the race for Hardy but in recent months it has gone quiet as the G League has separated themselves as the clear-cut leader. If Hardy does make a surprising decision to attend college next season, signs point towards playing for Mick Cronin and the UCLA Bruins but again, the professional route is what is expected. his highlights look great. He seems to have very long arms, which allows him to keep his dribble super low to the ground. then he can protect the ball with his body and extend those long arms to get to the hoop and finish. The long arm/low dribble /extension to the rim moves he uses to beat guys off the bounce are similar in style (though clearly not in skill/effectiveness level!) to the way Harden attacks off the dribble. Definitely looks like he could be a strong offensive player, and fun to watch. At 6' defense is probably an issue in certain matchups. But overall, he definitely looks like an interesting prospect. Regarding his defense, this is how 24/7 described him in their write-up today: Joseph is a long and strong point guard prospect whose biggest value comes in what he brings to the defensive side of the ball. He is a plus athlete, who plays hard and can use his length and strength to be a tough and disruptive on-ball defender. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Boston-College-Georgetown-Marquette-Miami-Providence-Bensley-Joseph-2021-basketball-recruiting-cuts-list-149380065/The other new point guard arriving in Coral Gables is Bensley Joseph. Joseph, a four-star recruit out of Arlington, Massachusetts, played high school basketball for Cushing Academy in his home state and spent his last year at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. Joseph was a consensus top-150 recruit, and widely considered the best high school player in all of Connecticut. He was ranked as the 80th best prospect in the country by ESPN and the 14th best point guard. However after suffering an ankle injury in a pre-season scrimmage, he was forced to miss his entire senior season. After fielding offers from a variety of big-name schools such as Boston College, Georgetown, Marquette and others, Joseph committed to Miami because he felt that the staff valued his game the most and showed him significant interest throughout the recruitment process. www.themiamihurricane.com/2021/11/08/mens-basketball-position-previews-point-guards/

2. What 2021 player is racking up offers that you wish you could have seen this summer? Bossi: One of the most intense debates during our rankings updates was what to do with Wisconsin power forward James Graham. At 6-foot-8 he appears to have some inside/out game and fits the mold of what teams are looking for in a four man who can stretch the floor on offense and help control the glass on defense. But, we've not been able to evaluate him in person so we decided to hold off on a ranking until we could get a live viewing. That being said, programs such as Arizona State, Auburn, Butler, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia, Iowa, Marquette, Maryland, Michigan State, Missouri, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Xavier have all offered in the six weeks, and made him one of the most heavily recruited. Evans: Angelo Brizzi has been a heavily dissected and offered prospect this spring. Prior to the quarantine, his recruitment was littered with Atlantic 10, Ivy and Patriot League programs. Now, it is a national, high-major affair that includes Arizona, Georgetown, Michigan, Northwestern, Villanova and Virginia Tech on his offer list. Brizzi seems open to all newcomers. He is someone that might be better at some respective systems compared to others but is a good-sized guard that can play on and off the ball, brings toughness to the backcourt and can make shots which is why his recruitment has soared in recent months. McDonald: Ryan Mutombo has added several offers from high-major programs since the shutdown in March with Arizona being the most recent earlier this week. I was really looking forward to seeing how he fared this travel season because he has come such a long way in the past year. I love that he views himself as a center, which is rare these days because all centers want to be power forwards just like all power forwards want to be small forwards. He’s also continued to work to where he can make mid-range jumpers and hits most of his free throws. He’s put on more than 35 pounds in the last year. On the recruiting front, his list includes Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. The chatter has picked up for Angelo Brizzi to pick Villanova. Wouldn’t that be a great string of days if Brizzi and Jordan Longino, who is set to announce his decision tonight, team up together on the Main Line? Brizzi picking Nova could impact fellow point guards Rahsool Diggins, Stevie Mitchell and Bensley Joseph. With Villanova out for Diggins after Brizzi's commitment, it feels like a Florida-UConn battle, with the Huskies having a slight lead. North Carolina is silently working things behind the scenes but has not offered. Meanwhile, the talk surrounding Mitchell is that he would like to play closer to home in college. Villanova could be out which means the nearest program to his Reading, Penn., locale is Temple. The Owls hold my FutureCast prediction and no one has recruited him harder than Aaron McKie and his staff. Marquette, which is also in need of a point guard, is also looking at Mitchell. With Joseph, Miami holds my FutureCast prediction with a commitment not too far away, but Marquette is also involved here, too. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/three-point-play-strong-21-nba-draft-class-g-league-pg-dominoes"Sources tell WV Sports Now that West Virginia has reached out to Villanova transfer guard Angelo Brizzi. Brizzi entered the transfer portal on Friday, leaving the team after two seasons within the program." wvsportsnow.com/source-west-virginia-reaches-out-to-villanova-transfer-g-angelo-brizzi/

Wow that is huge news. Top 50 local, player who fits a huge need in 2021 class with a final 4 that Georgetown should have every chance to win against. Go get him Pat! A future on the wing with Williams and Sibley is terrific.
